The dramatic effect the house produces in terms of space and light includes open staircases and living on three levels. It's for this reason that we don't rent out to those with young children or those who are infirm or might have difficulty with the open plan nature of the villa. The photographs should help you decide whether this sort of modern open environment is for you.
While the Villa is quiet and offers expansive living space it is also on the doorstep of Barbados' oldest settlement (Holetown in St James) - the site where the English first came ashore in 1627. Today Holetown is a heritage site and a compact but busy hub - the heart of the island's dynamic West Coast. The owners wanted a home that was large enough that they could spend a day kicking back without in anyway feeling claustrophobic, but also wanted to be able to walk to some of the best beaches, bars, restaurants, shops and amenities that Barbados can offer.
That's what the Villa offers, uncomplicated easy living. You will therefore find the Villa is within easy reach of spectacular white sand beaches, golf courses, polo fields, world-class hotels, restaurants and shops of the Platinum Coast. And to top it the entire Villa is a two minute walk away from the wider Limegrove development, a Life Style Centre at the top end of Barbados's tourist offer in terms of shopping, cinemas, restaurants, bars and coffee shops. The beaches, Limegrove, everything that Holetown has to offer is all just five minutes walk away.More
The house, on three floors and with open staircases, is not suitable for young children, those with mobility issues or those who are nervous about the open staircases.
Our home when we are on the island, we ask you to respect it as you would care for your own home. This is not the place to book if you are looking for a place to party, it is if you just want to relax.

While on the island you are going to be looked after by an amazing team: Kathy and Solly. They will meet you at the house, show you around, and be on call in case you need help. The maid will be in three times a week to keep the house nice and clean for you. Kathy and Solly can also provide you with a concierge service - that you pay directly with them for - that can include airport transfers, a pre-shop so the fridge is stacked as you arrive, restaurant and sight seeing bookings, and the like. Entirely up to you how much you ask them to do to help you, or do yourself.
Just back from our second trip to Hillside Villas and enjoyed it as much as the first time.
Found new things to do and places to go but also looked forward to coming "home" and relaxing in the lovely villa.
And now the supermarket is...More

Our group of 6 people thoroughly enjoyed a 6 day stay at this lovely townhouse situated right in Holetown and just 250 yards from the beach. The supermarket is just around the corner, the beach bars are close by. There are lots of restaurants close...More
This beautiful house is a true home from home and was a perfect base from which to explore on our first trip to Barbados. We really enjoyed the beach, the bars and restaurants, walking every morning to explore other bays, sailing and the little yellow...More
It is in an excellent location in Holetown to visit the many fabulous Caribbean beaches on the West coast and indeed to venture further afield. Do not miss a trip to North Point, the beaches on the East Coast (particularly Bathsheba) and a visit to...More
Holetown Beach is closest to the Villa and a few moments walk from the house. It has crystal clear waters, calm sea conditions, very little undertow and white sand. There is a beach bar that does good rum punch, cold beer and simple bar snacks and the obligatory water sports, beach chair and umbrella rental. It's also a great spot to start a walk up the West Coast, across a range of superb beaches, following the newly created promenade that can take you as far as the fabulous Lone Star restaurant. A good point to turn around after an indulgent lunch or sundowner.
In the evening you might want to start with a cocktail in the Limegrove Bar (and you may have started the day, next door in the 'Relish' Cafe which, we think, has the best coffee on the island). However we suspect you will wa...
How to get there
Barbados is well served by direct flights from the UK and America. If not hiring a car, then a taxi from the airport to the Villa will be required. Whether to hire a car or not depends on how much time you want to spend exploring the island. The great thing about the Villas position, is that a hire car is not essential. Much is within walking distance (beaches, bars, restaurants, shops) and so it may be best to limit your expenditure by just hiring a car for a couple of days - to get out and about - or by using the odd taxi - or for the young at heart the cheap and cheerful Z Vans to get around the island.
