The owners leave a recent copy of Whitby Advertiser together with a number of leaflets/pamphlets suggesting places to visit and places to eat including takeaways including a good fish and chip shop in Whitby which will deliver to the cottage free of charge for orders over £7 (please check at time of order).Bus timetables are also provided.

-unclean sofa's when was where last clean I hoover them my self kitchen doors had tea stains all over them again clean them my self the wall behind the fridge had mould again clean it off I don't know if the owner cleans it herself...More

cottage was lovely and cosy nice private garden village was nice fantastic butchers shop good local put which is dog friendly, very nice walks into whitby had a great stay we will be booking this cottage again in the future.

Recently refurbished Grade II listed 2 bedroom cottage, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin attic bedroom. Family bathroom. Entrance Hallway. In the lounge we have comfy seating for 4 people, a dining area also seating 4, TV with Freeview, Sky TV, DVD player, radio/CD player and coal effect electric fire. Kitchen has fridge with ice box, oven with hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and full cookware and facilities.

Upstairs to the right is a spacious double bedroom with beamed ceiling, double bed, TV with Freeview, double wardrobe and 2 bedside cupboards. Upstairs to the left is a large family bathroom which has a bath with shower over, toilet, sink and washing machine. Up a further set of very wide easy access stairs is a twin attic bedroom. We do have a pull out camp bed so could take 1 extra child at a small cost but own bedding would need to be provided. Travel Cot available but please supply your own bedding.

Dogs welcome at £20 per dog per stay but please do not let them upstairs or on the furniture.

3 night stays may be possible in peak season if booked late, please enquire for details.

If booked direct through Holiday Lettings a 20% deposit is taken at the time of the booking. We also take a £50 breakage deposit which needs paying seperately. This is fully refundable after your stay and can be paid by cheque (made payable to L Leader) or Paypal. Please enquire about address to send cheque to.

If booked by email/phone we take the £50 breakage deposit as your deposit. Then the full balance of the holiday will be due 4 weeks before arrival date. Please contact for postal address. Paypal payments accepted.

About the neighbourhood
In the beautiful valley of The Esk, where the river is nearing the sea, Ruswarp has an iron bridge and a tall, brick viaduct, an old mill where the wheel still turns, many old cottages at the foot of awinding hill where the 1800c church stands among flowers. Its tower and spire are 120 feet high. Inside is a bullet scarred crucifix, picked up at the battlefield at Ypres, Belgium 1914 - 1918.

Near the iron road bridge and alongside the level crossing close to the live steam train station stands the Bridge Inn, a good selection of home cooked food and has a good selection of ales.

Further up the road is a top class butchers only 30 yds from eskmoor cottage. If you fancy a delicious hot breakfast sandwich or meat for a BBQ. They also sell a wide range of cheeses, bread, cakes, cooked meats...
