La Cueva is a unique eco-house in Dominican Republic a three minutes walk from a magnificent beach. The house is constructed around a rock formation and there is unique cave integrated in the house as a bathroom. The house is spacious and has a zen athmosphere, has 2 terraces & is situated in a lucious green and safe residential area, just a few steps away from different beaches and the centre of town. La Cueva is a nature house. We designed this little pearl to have a direct contact with nature and the surrounding tropical environment. This means we used a lot of 'earthly' materials (concrete, stones, wood, rocks). We build the house around a rock formation, where a big cave ('a little cathedral') is restaurated, integrated in the house and is used as a totally unique bathroom. You rent the entire house, with equipped kitchen. So you can make your own breakfast, lunch dinner .... just nearby (400m walking distance ) you can find everything you need for creating wealthy, healthy meals. There are two rooms with double beds ( and ceiling fan) on the ground floor . All beds have mosquito nets. La Cueva eco-lodge is situated in a beautiful laid back & quiet area, in 250m direct line to the sea and only a few minutes walking distance from the beaches (playa Grande 3 min, Playita 7 min., playa Caleton 15 min, playa Madame 30 min., playa Colorado, 35 min.) as well as to the village, with shops & restaurants. For the great Playa Fronton, you need to take a boat (15 min from Las Galeras Beach) ... you'll understand why this is a must , once you see it ;-). For the magnificent Playa Rincon: you need a car, or a taxi or motoconcho (you can easily get around on a 'taxi-motorbike'), or you take the boattrip. You don't need a car so hard around here, unless you really want to explore the peninsula of Samana, which is fantastic too. Your contact person lives very close to the house. He is as well the man who you need to go to for the keys, who will give you a guiding through the house and he is there for any questions you have. The price of the house (renting) includes your stay and as well all electricity, water & gas (all included), security, taxes and cleaning in the end of your stay, or weekly if you stay longer then one week. In the house there are enough bed sheets, blankets and towels for bath and kitchen. We wish you a wonderful stay in paradise! More

Splendid location

- great original eco lodge near 2-3 beaches - spacious lodge with a unique bathroom in a cave - nice garden to chill with flowers - near the main street with some good restautants

About the neighbourhood
Set in a the middle of a horseshoe-shaped cove at the eastern part of the Samaná peninsula, Las Galeras is the last village. The road litterally stops at the ocean. Between two superb capes, Cabo Cabron in the west and Cabo Samana at the eastern side, Las Galeras is relaxing at a sweeping curve of pure white sand, upon which an almost unbelievable turquoise sea laps gently. Between these two capes you find fantastic nature (nature reserves, mountains, El Limón waterfall) ánd seven beaches, so one for every day. Las Galeras is an old fishermen's village stretched along the main road. This small village has managed to maintain its peaceful and timeless ambiance.
