Holsworthy and Hatherleigh are small friendly market towns, both have a number of pubs with restaurants. Hatherleigh has a traditional country market on Tuesday mornings with several auctions. One is their famous poultry auction where sellers bring their livestock of all sizes and shapes from small birds to large Geese, guinea pigs, rabits and ferrets alike.the other is the Household auction where you'll find many an interesting item ranging from plants, shrubs and household effects to garden furniture and tools. Holsworthy has a market on Wednesday selling a variety of local produce. Many stalls at both markets sell all sorts of things and the pubs have local brewed beers and good food.
