Houseboat -
2 Bedrooms , 3 Bathrooms , Sleeps 4
Holsworthy, Torridge, Devon, England
Devon Houseboats offer a unique opportunity to stay aboard a wide beam canal barge without the worry of locks and waterways. The barges are custom built to offer the maximum comfort and style for four people sleeping in two cabins. Both cabins have their own en suite shower/wc. The onshore boathouse provides additional space with table, chairs, settee and a third bathroom.

Blagdon Water provides the visitor with peace and tranquillity nowadays rarely found. The floating accommodation provides the perfect setting in which to relax and share the wildlife habitat.
Blagdon Water is only 20 minutes drive from the Atlantic Coast, Exmoor and Dartmoor.

One small dog per boat.

Painted Lady sits serenely in her berth on a private lake where ducks and moorhens glide past and a family of Canada geese patrol the wooden walkway leading to the boathouse. Inside, she is surprisingly spacious, accommodating us and two teenage grand-daughters with little problem....More

Better than glamping, more fun than a cottage. More comfy than the usual barge because you can move the chairs. Comfy beds. Dear little log stove. The boat house with extra loo and shower with furniture would be a godsend if people need a little...More

Additional amenities & feature info
Enter Painted Lady amidships down oak steps into the main salon, galley and dining area. A pine dresser top and Belfast sink over looking the lake actually makes doing the washing up a pleasure whilst watching the birdlife busy itself on the lake. The cabins lie fore and aft and both have their own decks on which to enjoy a quite cup of coffee in privacy.

The wood burning stove in the salon allows the out of season visitor to enjoy the boat as the evenings draw in. The lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout and provides the fisherman a perfect and peaceful location in which to enjoy his hobby.
