Stunning house, beautiful location. Great facilities although all ensuite bathrooms, no main bathroom. The twin room in the loft has very low ceilings and no door just stairs going into it. The heating is quite slow to come on so it can be chilly. Great...More

About the neighbourhood
Pittenweem - its name is Gaelic for 'place of the cave' - is a working fishing port, its busy harbour being the main landing point for the daily catch. It is a small village of some 1500 inhabitants, with a history not just of fishing and trading but of art too. In August over 100 artists exhibit at the annual Pittenweem Arts Festival and over 30 artists make their permanent home here. The village is blissfully situated, white houses with red pantiled roofs tumbling down to harbour and spreading up and beyond to the fields above. It is situated between Anstruther with its bustling harbour, the Fisheries Museum, supermarkets, various shops and renowned restaurants and the quieter village of St Monans, home to an excellent fish restaurant.
