About the neighbourhood
We offer the perfect base for visitors to this part of Nottinghamshire and here’s a little taster about Papplewick and the local area: On the outskirts of the village is Papplewick Hall which dates back to the 18th century whilst it's St James's Church has links to Robin Hood as legend has it that Robin Hood would cut his bows from the Yew Trees in the church yard. The nearby cave dug from a standstone cliff has also been named Robin Hood's stables. Nearby we are blessed with an abundance of tea rooms, country pubs, restaurants, shops, country walks, golf courses, cycling routes and horse-riding stables… an ideal location for cyclists and walkers with Derbyshire less than an hour’s drive away.
Getting around
Close to the M1, East Midlands Airport, the tram, train and the bus from Mansfield to Nottingham passes the end of our drive every 10 mins. We have an abundance of National treasures to visit including the Papplewick Pumping Station, Newstead Abbey, Southwell Minster, Newark Castle, Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park, Rufford Park, Sherwood Pines, Thorsby Hall, the Nottingham Caves and White Post Farm, these are just some of the nearby attractions.
