Welcombe is a picturesque coastal village with a beautiful beach, a fantastic thatched pub and a village shop. Walking is good with the coast path and a nature reserve nearby. There is a shared garden for residents only and a patio with garden furniture.
The property consists of 1 double bedroom, 1 bunk bedroom, a bathroom and an open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen. The bathroom has a wash basin, toilet and an electric shower over the bath. Comfortable & cosy. Everything at hand. Pub only yards away, with many different draughts on tap. Will come back again.

Beautiful North Devon coastal location and very close to the Cornish border. The historically-interesting, thatched Old Smithy Inn is a few yards away and, as well as providing lovely hospitality and excellent food, it has the added interest of some diverting pieces of 1970's memorabilia....More

These prices do not include the cost of electricity which is payable by £1 coin meter. The amount needed depends on usage, but most people put in about £10 - £15 during a weeks stay in the summer and £20 - £25 during the winter. On your arrival, I make sure there is £5 credit during the summer and £10 during the winter. I ask that clients do not let the credit get very low at any time during their stay.

About the neighbourhood
The local beaches are great for families and surfers and many allow dogs, especially out of season.The coastal views are stunning and the inland countryside gentle and green with many wild flowers, especially in the Spring. The area is ideal for walkers with a network of footpaths and lanes, especially the next valley which is a nature reserve and is really beautiful. The South West Coast Path is easily accessible from Little Nod and there are 2 really good walks, in either direction, both ending near pubs. There are lots of good places to eat out, with the wonderful Old Smithy Inn literally on the doorstep. There are other pubs nearby and 3 takeaways in Kilkhampton (Pizza, Chinese and Fish & Chips). At Welcombe Cross on the A39 you take the road signposted Welcombe. Stay on this road and after approx.2.5 miles take the right-hand turn by The Old Smithy Inn, Darracott Farm and the Pottery. Just past Darracott Farm there is a track on your right that takes you into the car park for the bungalows. Alternatively drive through the Old Smithy Car Park, go down the track to the right of the pub and you enter the car park from the other end. The Old Smithy Inn is usually open all day and serves lunches from 12-2.30pm and dinner from 6-9pm. If you want to eat there, especially on a Saturday evening or Sunday lunchtime, I would advise you book in advance.
