At lunch, or market days or for an evening stroll the town of Eymet is a short stroll where you will find some excellent restaurants and bars, a couple of supermarkets, boulangeries and butchers as well as other interesting shops. Being on the banks of the river there are some amazing views and great picnic spots. The town dates back to the 13th century and is a typical bastide town in its layout, full of idyllic medieval houses and attractive buildings. The town hosts several cultural events and festivals throughout the year and is a vibrant as well as historical place to stay

Canoe hire, bike trails, vineyard tours, spa and beauty services, local tours and taxi services are all available for booking, just ask our on-site concierge and if we haven’t thought of it, why not suggest it. Our aim is to take the hassle out of your self-catering holiday.
A simply wonderful holiday gite. The whole site and thé gîtes are immaculate, the owners so helpful and friendly and the wonderful caretaker made our four days a relaxing easy stay. Breakfast delivered, croissants and french bread is a delightful touch. The pool is incredible, and covered and heated, with slides, and a toddler area. The grounds are stunning. Thé gîtes themselves furnished to the highest standard and with beautiful bedding, air con, and every convenience. I simply cannot recommend them highly enough.

Stunning, comfortable luxury.
We spent a week at la Palanque with our 3 year old and 18 month old. We all had a wonderful time. The Gites are luxurious, all conveniences are there, Josh and Marianne the concierge team were so happy to help and very friendly. We had a problem with the hire car and they were straight onto helping sort it out recommending local services.
The outside space is marvellous, great play ground areas for the kids, safe as no cars/roads inside the gates so kids could roam free(ish) leaving us to relax.
The gites have great log burners for the evenings. Silent nights with no light pollution and with no traffic noise just the wildlife.
The pool was a bit cold but we were visiting in May so it might warm up a little.
We would definitely recommend this place for families with children of any age. Loved it!!

Slightly frustrating experience
The Gites look great but the information on the website around flexible booking dates/periods is a little misleading. Full site bookings for 2020 only possible now for (i) either 7 days or (ii) if shorter, commencing on a Saturday only. Its not currently possible to book gites individually for Summer 2020. Took a week to respond to my initial query (albeit some delay understandable as query over Easter period)

La Palanque (Sequoia) - even better than we thought!
La Palanque is without doubt the best self-catering accommodation in which we have stayed in the Dordogne over a period of more than twenty years. The sign at the entrance driveway refers to La Palanque as 'luxury' accommodation and it is a word used with justification. The built environment has been restored/developed to a very high standard with expense clearly not being spared. This equally applies to the materials used in fitting out. An added bonus was a fully functioning wood burning stove which came with a more than adequate supply of logs.
The property is very suited to families, with a wonderful swimming pool and a large toddler pool and the extensive well kept grounds provide excellent exploration opportunities for all ages. La Palanque is also ideally placed for visits to nearby places of interest including Bergerac and St Emilion and Bordeaux is a mere 90 minutes away by car.
We must also mention our friendly, welcoming on site hosts, Josh and Mariana, who were always on hand to provide help and advice - and who also delivered fresh croissants and bread to our door each morning!
We are so pleased to have found La Palanque; we are currently looking at how to fit in our next stay!

Fantastic stay in every way
Stayed here for a week , could not fault the gitte everything you wanted was supplied, down to fresh coisants an French bread delivered every morning .
Josh and Mariana where first class , brilliant hosts , nothing to much trouble.
The facilities at la palanque are 5 star in every way., the grounds the pool everything was tip top.
Cannot recommend this fabulous Jewel in eymet enough

Wonderfully relaxing stay in a 5 star property
The property was stunning, the gite was wonderfully equipped inside and there is a fabulous pool and extensive grounds.
It was only a 15 min walk into the local town with restaurants, bars and plenty going on.
The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Suitable for both smaller and large parties with your own private BBQ and terrace but also a large communal area with a pizza oven and BBQ..
We will be back.

Lovely gite complex, just outside Eymet, a beautiful medieval town - good food, wine and could barely get my daughter out of the heated pool

Fantastic Holiday!
Had 9 wonderful nights staying in ‘Willow’ at La Palanque. It’s a very well equipped gite with luxurious modern fixtures & fittings. The owners have thought of everything you might need on a self catering holiday - even down to an ice pack and cool bag!
The hosts, Josh & Marianne, are very welcoming & couldn’t do enough for us. The breakfast delivery of fresh croissants & Baguettes went down a treat every morning. We enjoyed chatting with them in the evening whilst eating fresh Pizza from the outdoor oven on the terrace . Their local knowledge of events & places to visit was very useful.
The swimming pool area is much bigger and better than it looks in the pictures! It’s amazing. We could not get our 12 & 15 year olds out of it!
Eymet is a picturesque small town only 10 minutes walk down a quiet lane. It has nice restaurants and good weekly markets. One in the day & one at night.
There is lots to do in the area within an hours drive max. We enjoyed canoeing on the Dordogne, caves, a Château, lake swimming, a boat trip & vinyards.
We fully recommend La Palanque to all! 😀👍

Amazing place, beautifully renovated, idyllic surroundings and a wonderful place to be ...
We had a truly wonderful holiday at La Palanque. The owners have thought of everything in terms of making this a perfect family holiday.
The gites are beautifully laid out with everything you would need with comfy beds, all the mod cons in the kitchen and fresh bread and croissants each morning from the local Boulangerie. Josh & Mariana, the managers, go out of their way to make sure everything you need is catered for.
The grounds are extensive with a wonderful 25m pool with water slides and a toddler pool. A trampoline, two playgrounds, a football pitch mean the kids never wanted to leave!
When we did persuade the kids to leave there is so much to do on the doorstep. The local town of Eymet is within walking distance and during the summer months there are farmers markets and festivals on two or three times a week. A short drive away are some fantastic vinyards and chateaus. There's also canoeing (but we didn't get round to doing this - next time!!)
I would throughly recommend La Palanque to anyone. It's a place to enjoy with kids, have fun with friends, immerse yourself in the local history and culture or just relax and unwind in this beautiful place.

Family stay 10 days
A fabulous place to holiday. Caters for your every need. Josh and Marianne (management team) ensure that every need is catered for and made the whole stay perfect. Walking distance to a beautiful little town and so much to do within the area. Your holiday can be active or tranquil, Pilates and massage offered. We had no time to take up theses offers as too much to cram in. We would love to return in the next few years as it was a stunning place and extremely relaxing! Thank you!

You are surrounded by idyllic villages and towns, full of history and character, worthy of a visit for a leisurely lunch and explore such as the warren of medieval streets at Issigeac (24km) or the attractive Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (28km) facing the Dordogne. Not forgetting beautiful Bergerac (24km) with its medieval architecture, narrow streets of boutiques and great restaurants and impressive Bordeaux (95km), definitely worthy of a fantastic day trip.
As well as the famous La Route des Vins de Bergerac, you also have the Bordeaux vineyards to the west and beautiful Saint-Émilion (63km) just an hour away. Nearby the Château de Monbazillac (22km) is an especially wonderful place to sample and buy wines whilst Eymet even has its own local bre
