There are many places to stay at in the Calibishie area, but for independent travelers such as my wife and I, Sea Cliff Cottages is the only choice. A tremendous location and a great value even in high season. Constant cooling trade winds, and and a nearly private beach with a crystal clear freshwater river for rinsing off flowing through it. Gwen and Jim are wonderful hosts, knowledgeable and helpful, and you feel like you've joined and been welcomed into a small tightly knit community. We love to buy local provisions and do our own cooking, and the kitchen was very well equipped. Go to the fishermen's cooperative in nearby Marigot. We bought sushi grade tuna there for about $3 US a pound. Dominica itself is probably as unspoiled a place as can be found in the Americas. We'll be going back very soon.
