Interaction with guests
We take our cue from our guests, as we realize that everyone is different. We usually meet our guests when they arrive, to give them the key, show them the property and explain how everything works. We live close by, so that if they need any help or advice we are there to help. Our aim is to give our guests superlative accommodation and a great holiday experience. Plus, there is a lot of information in the cottage about Skye and the surrounding area. There is also a house manual which we ask them to take a look at, especially if we are not here at the time of their arrival.

About the neighbourhood
Torrin is a small crofting township on the shores of Loch Slapin. Towering above the loch you will see the mountain Blaven as you approach the village, and it will take your breath away. Probably the most beautiful mountain on Skye, it is a magnet for hill walkers and climbers.
However, there are many less challenging walks and hikes in the near vicinity. Naturalists will welcome the many opportunities to see Golden Eagles, otters and many other birds. And Torrin is also a botanists' paradise, being renowned for its wild flowers, from early spring onwards.
A 15 minute drive will take you to Broadford, where you will find a Cooperative supermarket, Post Office, pharmacy, pubs, restaurants, cafes, gift shops, health centre and hospital.
Getting around
Most people come by car, although it is possible to get here by public transport. There are daily buses from Broadford except for Sundays.
Car advised
How to get there
Airport: Inverness: 100.0 km
Railway: Kyle of Lochalsh: 20.0 km

A week before arrival, we send our guests a detailed explanation of how to get here, by email. Our experience has been that most people arrive by car, although it is entirely possible to travel here via public transport, it just takes a bit of organization. The nearest airport is in Inverness and the nearest train station is Kyle of Lochalsh. There is a bus stop in Broadford, and a bus from Broadford to Torrin runs every day except Sunday.
