Detached 2 bedroom 300 yr old cob & thatch cottage in the heart of rural Mid-Devon.
Enclosed garden leading to meadows & the riverbank to wander along watching the abundant wildlife or just relaxing. Situated on a genuine working 4th generation family farm.
Full of character but with all the modern conveniences you would expect. Plenty of space with kitchen, dining room & sitting room but with a cosy cottage feel. NB: Please note that the dining room ceiling is only 6ft1in high. I double bedroom has a shower ensuite . Family bathroom & a room with double & single beds.
Linen ,towels, heating & WiFi are included in the price.

Almost always someone will be here to greet you on your arrival and show you around the cottage, how things work, boiler, WiFi etc. and answer any questions you may have. We are on hand during you stay should there be a problem, which we will do our utmost to rectify as soon as possible. We can also show you around the farm or give you details of places to visit.

We stayed here in July with our 2 children. Gillian was extremely helpful and had placed a trampoline in the garden for the kids. There were homemade scones and cream in the house on arrival. The cottage was well laid out everything available that would...More

Hele Lane Cottage is gorgeous, extremely well equipped (I could move in tomorrow!) set in a dip (no phone signal but there the cottage has wifi for those that require it and a landline) in the hills surrounded by beautiful landscape, sheep and cows. Gill...More

About the neighbourhood
A rural valley of the Little Dalch river set between villages of Black Dog & Witheridge , home to a variety of family mixed farms. Lots of local walks & pretty villages to explore with award winning pubs to sustain you. Also a reknowned glass blower has his studio nearby.
Getting around
A car is essential. We do have lots of footpaths inc the Two Moors Way nearby. Cycling is an option & we can point you in the direction of where to hire should you wish. The garden shed is ideal for bike storage.
The nearest bus is at Witheridge 2 miles.

Railway: Tiverton Parkway: 28.0 km
Ferry: Plymouth: 120.0 km
From M5 exit at Junction 27. Follow A361 Tiverton/Barnstaple road for approx. 6.5 miles. Ignoring the B3391 sign to Tiverton at Gornhay Cross continue to the Bolham roundabout, where you turn left to Tiverton. At the next roundabout second exit left, right at the next roundabout then straight across next roundabout with Morrisons on the left and the Hospital on the right. Then take the next right at the mini roundabout then 2nd on the left, signed the B3137 to Witheridge. Continue for approx. 10 miles passing through the villages of Withleigh and Nomansland.
