Thank you so much - what a lovely review! I know what you mean about the stairs! I am quite elderly, so I think they keep me agile. I hope you’ll come back and stay again. Maureen

About the neighbourhood
The Pas de Calais has so many visitor attractions, that it is hard to list them. There are several wonderful bird reserves, gardens, chateaux, beaches, walking and hiking areas. For those interested in WW1, the battlefields of the Somme are an hour's drive away. Montreuil has a very good and helpful tourist information centre.
How to get there
The best way to get to Montreuil is via Eurotunnel. You come out almost immediately onto the A16 which takes you to within ten miles of Montreuil. The journey takes about 45 minutes.
