DESOTO TUDOR The DeSoto Tudor on Capitol Hill is adjacent to the Utah State Capitol, Memory Grove, and minutes from Ensign Peak. The architecture on DeSoto Street is a mix of old and new, this is what creates the charm about it living up here. DeSoto street is lined with massive sycamore trees that were planted in the late 1920’s creating a breathing arch across the street. The neighborhood has a great deal of character and we can’t wait to show it off to you. So, if you are requiring lodging in downtown Salt Lake City for corporate business, attending a conference at the Calvin Rampton-Salt Lake Convention Center or just visiting Salt Lake City for leisure travel, or need a short-term rental, consider staying at this home-stay property: DeSoto Tudor on Capitol Hill. Interaction with guests
Vincent had a career in the hospitality and airlines industry, so guest services come naturally for him. The hospitality industry allowed him the opportunity to work in various positions of management and as well as different brands of hotels. One thing in common, it is all about customer service and making sure that the guests has an enjoyable experience while traveling. Ken works in healthcare, which has become just as customer centric as hospitality. Patient care has become very consumer oriented and has taught him that meeting or exceeding customer expectations is the name of the game. Together, Ken and I will insure you are provided with the best possible experience. You will also be greeted by our two cats, Holstein (Holey) and Ida.

About the neighbourhood
THE NEIGHBORHOOD The hill slopes down to the south, overlooking downtown Salt Lake City, which is why the Utah State Capitol was built there between 1912 and 1916. State Street (U.S. Route 89 in Utah) leads up Capitol Hill, and Main Street also climbs the one block to the west. The entire Salt Lake City metro area can seen from Capitol Hill, as can the Great Salt Lake miles to the west. The hill is home to many historic buildings. The west-sloping side of the hill is a diverse neighborhood called 'Marmalade Hill', since the streets are named after various fruits that are often used in making marmalade. The east slope descends sharply into City Creek Canyon. Over the small canyon is another Salt Lake City neighborhood called 'the Avenues'.
How to get there
The Salt Lake International Airport is 15 min (9.6 miles) from the DeSoto Tudor. If you aren't renting a car, you have a few options, either Uber, Lyft or one of the cab companies in Salt Lake City. My recommendation would be Lyft or Uber. The average cost should be less than $ 15.00 with tip.
