The property is not ideal for a large dog but a small dog should be ok.
Please advise if you plan to bring one.
There is a large verandah/patio overlooking the sea. There is are robust railings around this but it is advisable to supervise young children.
There is a large beach just below the property and plenty more accessible by the foot paths.

Stunning location with magnificent views. Both my children couldn't wait to get down onto the beach everyday. Cottage was cosy and homely with everything you could need. We loved sitting in the window in an evening watching the boats.

It is unfortunate that this review has been placed, especially with the acknowledgement of the writer that the owners are not local and cannot deal with issues personally. Please refer to the previous fantastic reviews for Lapwing.
It is beyond my control how some tenants...More

Portscatho is a traditional fishing village and local shops include a butchers, grocers, galleries and a gift shop along with 2 pubs. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden Project are half and hour's drive away and there are many other National Trust Gardens & Houses in the garden to visit. Nearby Falmouth has many shops and restaurants with local products and the cathedral city of Truro is accessibly either by road of via The King Harry Ferry.
The many watersports include sailing and windsurfing and surfing is available on the North Cornish Coast which is only a short distance away. There are many beaches with safe swimming and rock pools and it is spectacular walking country along the coastal paths.
Once in the village there is usually no need for a car. There are beautiful walks from the door, wonderful sea views from the property and plenty to do. The local village beach is just below the property.
There is a butchers in the village and also a small supermarket.
There is an excellent village pub (The Plume of Feathers) in the centre of the village and also a very nice pub in Gerrans up the hill. It is sometimes wise to book at the Plume if planning an evening meal but there is no need for this at the Standard.
It is a short drive (7miles) to St Austell and there are many wonderful places to visit nearby. Further details are in the property.
