About the neighbourhood
Portscatho is a traditional fishing village and local shops include a butchers, grocers, galleries and a gift shop. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden Project are 30 minutes drive away and there are many other National Trust Gardens & Houses in the garden to visit. Nearby Falmouth has many shops and restaurants with local products and the cathedral city of Truro is accessibly either by road of via The King Harry Ferry. The many watersports include sailing and windsurfing and surfing is available on the North Cornish Coast which is only a short distance away. There are many beaches with safe swimming and rock pools and it is spectacular walking country along the coastal paths.
Getting around
Most people come to Portscatho by car, park up and don’t use their cars again. There is plenty to keep you occupied....wonderful walks from the cottage door, beaches, water activities, a village pub and another in Gerrans up the hill. There is a village shop and butchers. It is only a few miles to drive to St Austell and also easy to get to other places in Cornwall.
