About the neighbourhood
The Burke Gilman Trail and Green Lake are fabulous for walking and biking. Archie McPhee is a famous wacky store for gifts and toys on N. 45th and Stoneway. There are several restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. Some of our favorites are the following: -Fuel Coffee on N. 45th for coffee and pastries -The Blue Star Cafe for breakfast all day 3 blocks away at N. 45th & Stone Way -Bizzarro Italian Cafe 3 blocks away at N. 46th & Stoneway for a cozy and fun filled evening of Italian food. -Musashi's for sushi 2 1/2 blocks away on N. 45th. Get there at 8pm and you'll miss most of the long lines. They close at 9pm weekdays and 9:30pm on weekends. -Pagliacci Pizza on Stoneway for great pizza take out or delivery. -among many other choices
There is free street parking right on our street or 1/2 a block up there is back end free parking at a school. Lots of public transportation is within 1/2 a block to two blocks away. The #62 stops at the corner and takes you downtown in 15 min, while the #49 is two blocks away and takes you right to everything in Ballard to the West and UW to the East, with a quick connection to Capitol Hill. Plan your bus and city rail trips at Sound Transit. For taxis we recommend Lyft and then Uber. Both arrive usually within 2-10 minutes of calling them.
