Newly renovated 2 bedroom home. Convenient location. Private entrance, and gated driveway for secure parking. Built in 1942 as a Hay and Food Store. The owners resided in the apartment upstairs (as do we). The downstairs had been unoccupied for 10 years before Hurricane Katrina. My husband and I bought the gutted building 2 years ago from the original owners son. We have lovingly renovated the downstairs into a charming 2 bedroom home with a large beautiful open kitchen, breakfast bar and dinning area, along with a separate living room with french doors for privacy. The bathroom has a large walk-in tiled shower. There is a Front load washer and dryer in unit.

I generally greet guest with the Keys to the house and the locked gated driveway. I give them a quick walk thru the house. I live upstairs and I am readily available if needed. We have separate entrances and I haven't heard any of the guest staying in the downstairs house, unless they are outside and speaking loudly. I can offer dinning or music venue suggestions at your request. I only interact with guest as requested.

Very nice house, close to Jazzfest. Only 10 minute Uber to Bourbon street. Sharon was a helpful, friendly host.

About the neighbourhood
My home is in the historic 7th ward. It's just off Elysian Fields, which runs from the river (and French Market) to the Lake (and Lakefront Arena). I-10 is easily accessed. The Bywater and Marigny Restaurants are 5 min away. Frenchman Street (Great Live Music Venues) is just 5 Min away. Bourbon Street is 10 min away as is the City Park. The Fairgrounds and Racetrack are 5 min away.
Whole Foods is about 7 min away. The Winn-Dixie is 10 min away.
Getting around
Most of my guest have a car to see the city sites, But they use Uber or Lyft to get them to and from the French Quarter.
