Threatened and Harassed - Smelly Loud Construction park adjacent
We had a horrible say over Mother’s Day weekend at this property in Arden, NC. On Mother’s Day, my 8 year old daughter had planned to have a picnic by gazebo and pond right outside the door. As we pulled in drive returning from store a fast pick up truck peeled by us up to pond playing loud music. A man, woman, and boy loudly exited and didn’t acknowledge us. They loudly set up and began fishing by pond just outside door. Inside my husband and I wondered who they were and then he went to ask. My daughter was becoming upset as she wanted to set up her planned picnic. The man informed my husband he owned the property and they’d “just be a few minutes.” An hour passed and my daughter was sobbing because she had planned a Mother’s Day picnic and strangers were still just outside being quite loud. I went outside to ask why they were right outside the rental property while we were renting and I mentioned that my daughter was quite upset because she had planned a Mother’s Day picnic. The man said it was his property and he could be wherever he liked, but also confessed his parents were true owners. I asked to have the number to his parents and he refused saying he’d give me no information and it was his mother’s Mother’s Day so I shouldn’t dare bother her. He also continued to yell at me that it was his wife’s Mother’s Day and that I was ruing her day with my presence. I took a photo and then he angrily left and threatened he’d be back whenever he felt like it for the rest of our trip. The owner knew of the harassment by his son and was callous at best when my husband and I communicated with him about incident.
One should also be aware that behind the house is a construction zone of trailers and it smelled like burning tires most of the trip. As much as it looks secluded from photos it is not. The highway is near and is loud, it is in a flight path, and there is constant work equipment running in adjacent property of trailers.

WORST GUEST WE HAVE EVER HAD !!
Only one part of this review is true, the rest is over exaggerated. None of us have ever harassed anyone. You were never threatened or unsafe. Yes we allowed our son and grandson to go fish for 20 minutes at our pond, on our property. He was driving his car, no loud music. You both came and interrogated him, he explained who he was and he would only be a few minutes. The pond is away from the cottage. You don't rent our whole 17 acre farm, you rent the cottage. We live here, 17 acres is a lot of space.
You said you would leave a nasty review if we didn't give you a refund, wow, you did.
Most people consider us sharing our wonderful place a privilege. We have been renting for 13 years and never had anything like this happen. Our place is quiet and secluded exactly like the photos show.

Outstanding Stay!
It was all we had hoped. Charming, Cozy, and oh so clean. The location was great. The beds were super comfortable, and there was plenty of space for the 4 of us, including room for lego building. The kitchen is very well equipped. We lacked for nothing while cooking breakfast and dinner. Sitting outside watching the horses against the green rolling hills was definitely one of our favorite things. Teri was super welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend it!

Cozy cottage
We visited Ashville for spring break . Instead of staying at Omni Grove or Biltmore Estates, We chose to stay in cottage on horse farm. This cottage and farm was picturesque. Beautiful lush green medows with a small pond and barn on the property along with very friendly horses was an amazing experience . Didn’t get chance to do grill or hot tub , but it’s available on property.
Owner was very kind and she even welcomed with bunch of farm organic eggs in the refrigerator.
Cottage was easy drive to tourist attractions and few hikes . I’ll suggest this place for any one planning for peaceful perfect weekend.

Away from it all, but in the middle of everything!
Our wish list was daunting... I wanted a hot tub, my husband wanted a grill, recliner and wood burning fireplace, and my daughter wanted HORSES! And the Cottage at Willow Pond delivered it all! This was the most relaxing vacation we have ever taken. We felt like we were away from it all, but in reality it only took us minutes to get to everywhere we wanted to go. Terri was so accommodating and I can’t thank her enough. We made memories that we will cherish forever. I am usually ready to get home at the end of vacation, but this time I didn’t want to leave. We are already planning to go back for a long weekend!

A pastoral retreat in Asheville's mountains.
The Cottage on Willow Pond is only minutes from all the fun, artsy stuff, and Biltmore Estate in Asheville, but its pastoral setting is the perfect place to return to and unwind after a day of activity. The view from the front porch rockers is beautiful horses grazing; from the breezy sun room it's the pond and gazebo. Inside the house Terri has made each room comfy, homey and welcoming. We hope to return the next time we spend extended time in Asheville and Terri is a wonderful hostess.
