Your room has a warm and luxurious hotel double bed with crisply cleaned linens and a shared hot shower/bathtub equipped with essential toiletries and soft plush towels. It is bright and airy with high ceilings, this is our largest room! In the mornings you will have access to a self-serve organic breakfast that includes island fresh fruit, toast, jams/peanut butter, pancakes, oatmeal, coffee, and tea. You’ll have free Wi-Fi, free parking, ability to do laundry (for a $10 fee), and full kitchen use to cook your meals! Three other rooms in the home are listed on Airbnb as well, so you will have a chance to meet and make friends with other like minded travelers from across the globe! Comfortable patio furniture on our large wrap-around lanai is positioned perfectly to soak up the incredible, lush, panoramic views of Mauna Kea all the way to the Pacific ocean. By day, watch native songbirds play amongst indigenous O’hia and banana trees rustling in the cool upcountry breeze. By night you can relax and unwind while listening to the harmonies and choruses of the coqui frogs and their unique, adorable calls. About the neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is an undiscovered gem that non-locals rarely get to discover. We are surrounded by acres of tranquil rolling green pasture that is land passed from generation to generation. When the sun shines and there there is almost nowhere more beautiful on the island. It is much cooler up here than by the coast as well, due to our altitude. This is real Hawai'i!
Getting around
You will need a rental car to get to our home or a service like Uber. Guests have come using Uber or taxi before and we are about 20 minutes from the Hilo airport. Renting a car on Big Island is the best way to explore everything, as public transportation is limited and tours are expensive.
