Birch is the perfect cosy escape to the country”. Birch is a around 300 years old and is full of original features and charm. Enjoy a drink in the courtyard and get a good night sleep in her antique brass bed. Birch also has a wood burning stove in the living room which is a wonderful place to relax after a days shopping or walking. Butleigh has a well stocked shop and a pub; there are plenty of opportunities for walking as well. Birch is well placed for visiting the city of Wells and the quirky town of Glastonbury.

We only live 100 yards up the road so most of the time we are on hand for anything.
Unfortunately we don’t accept pets. The cottage is very old and so we ask that you talked great care of our precious Birch and leave her in the condition you find her.

About the neighbourhood
The village is very quiet. You can sit in the courtyard at night and only hear the owls. The village boasts a well stocked shop and Post Office, there is also an excellent pub as well. Butleigh has some stunning country walks and there are lots of footpaths accessible from the cottages front door.
Glastonbury is just 3 miles away and is a must visit. The city of Wells is 20 minutes drive, with it stunning cathedral and medieval city centre, markets and boutique shops a visit here is not to be missed. If it’s modern shopping you’re after then Clark’s village retail outlet is 5 minutes drive.
Whilst there is a bus from Butleigh which will get you to Street and Wells it’s not frequent. A car is not essential but would make life easier. We have had keen cyclists visit as well so that’s always an option.
