The house, Sunrise Point, is situated on a peninsula with close to 180 degrees of water frontage surrounded by 7 acres of woodland. Imagine yourself sitting on the boat dock with a steaming mug of coffee or tea watching the sun come up and burning up the mist over the water, while wondering what to do today. Perhaps some fishing, or put the crab traps out for dinner, may be take a boat ride and stop off at one of the dockside restaurants for lunch, a spot of horse shoes, a bike ride, some kayaking or a walk in the woods to work off lunch. Then fire up the gas grill and throw on whatever you caught / bought today, out on the deck while sipping a favorite beverage. After dinner may be play cards or board / video games or even watch a movie. Open plan Great room with hardwood floored (family room, kitchen and dining area) with towering stone fireplace and gas log fire (Nov 1st - Feb 28th), sky lights, ceiling fan, comfy sofas and chairs, dining area (seats 8) all looking out of a wall of glass windows onto the beautiful river. Two full-bathrooms: Both have toilet, shower / tub, and sink with vanity. Three large bedrooms (two opening onto deck and river views): Master Bedroom: King size bed, walk-in closet, en-suite bathroom, ceiling fan, huge sliding glass doors onto the deck, French doors that open onto screened in porch. Bedroom 2: Queen size bed, closet, glass doors open onto deck and river, large bay window with another view of the river. Bedroom 3: This room has a set of bunk beds, a closet, and a water view. Large loft space with additional sleeping for 2 people (2x Sofa beds), custom cherry wood book-cased library and office area with internet and WiFi. Modern fully equipped kitchen complete with microwave, coffee maker, toaster, electric can opener, beverage blender, dishwasher, stove / oven, refrigerator. Laundry and Cloak room with full-size washer and clothes drier. Idyllic screened in porch with dining area, rocking chairs, overhead fans - perfect for those evening card games while listening to the crickets, screech owls and other woodland creatures. Very large deck overlooking the water complete with Adirondack chairs, Propane Gas Grill, and Picnic table that seats as many as 12. 100-foot dock with multiple boat slips and fish cleaning stations. Even with boats in the slips there is plenty of dock space for fishing, crabbing, jet skiing (bring your own), canoeing/kayaking, swimming - steps for water access, or just laying around. Plenty of flat grass areas for play-time and those family Thanksgiving touch football games, horse shoes, hammock, tree swing. Several acres of private woods which surround and seclude the property are ideal for nature strolls and spotting woodland wildlife such as, deer, wild turkey, rabbits, birds, and foxes etc. Amenities / Appliances: Sleeps 6 with additional sleeping for 2 House Library and Office area Flat Screen TV, Internet / WiFi, DirecTV, PlayStation3 with selection of DVDs & Games, Stereo System, Books, and a selection of Board Games (inside the coffee table) Washer / Dryer, Stove / Oven, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Coffee Maker, Microwave, Double Toaster, Extra Beverage Refrigerator, Washer & Drier, Gas log fire (specific times during winter and Fall months only), Outside Gas Grill. Outside Hammock, Tree Swing, Horseshoe Pit, Bicycles, Kayaks (10 footers, and 8 footers) with paddles and life vests provided. Crab Pots, Crab Broil Equipment. Plenty of parking on driveway. Whether its, boating, kayaking, fishing, swimming, grilling out on a sun splashed deck while sipping margaritas or beers with family and friends, crabbing off the dock, or simply dozing in a hammock surrounded by nature, It's what the locals call, Rivah Time. About the neighbourhood
The Northern Neck Peninsular is an area in south-eastern Virginia with coast lines on the the mighty Potomac river, the Chesapeake Bay, and the Rappahannock river. This region of Virginia was peopled by several American-Indian peoples, was colonized by the English in 1607 and has been a major part of US history since. How to get there
Driving Times: 3 hour drive from the center of Washington, DC. 1 hour and 45 minute drive from the center or Richmond, Virginia Once you get onto Fairport Road, drive 1 mile and take the left turn onto Old Fairport Road, follow the road as it hooks to the right, drive another 80 yards and you will see a gravel track on the left with a mailbox labeled with the number '407' and 'Sunrise Pt.'. Follow the gravel track until you see a split rail fence and gateway on your left with the number, '407' and 'Sunrise Point sign, take the left into our driveway and enter the property.
