A recently restored 30 year old bungalow with tiled floors and terracing around the house. There are four bedrooms; two with king-sized beds one of which opens onto the terrace and garden, and two with single beds. Each of the two bathrooms offers either a bath or a shower. Wardrobes and cupboards can be found throughout the bungalow. The living area has a high ceiling with beams, and doors leading out to terrace and garden. This room is open plan to a fabulous kitchen. Extensive units designed to offer ample storage for china, glassware and cooking equipment. There is a large fridge, electric cooker, electric ceramic hob, dishwasher and washing machine. A large table allows seating for eight people (a further garden table is situated outside). Ile de Ré, off La Rochelle is linked to the mainland by a bridge. It offers an idealized version of French life. Cars are in the minority; most people use the cycle paths that criss-cross the island’s vineyards, pine forests and salt flats. Ile de Ré salt is now predictably fashionable in gastro circles.
