I think the cottage discription is very clear and precisely what it says. We had a lovely stay, and really enjoyed our time in beautiful Wales.

About the neighbourhood
The village has an inn, called the 'Ship Aground', which serves meals and a motel/restaurant which also serves excellent food and take aways.
There is a footpath from the village to the foreshore of the Dwyryd estuary and Giftan island, which is only accessible at low tide. This is heaven for wading birds and other wildlife and is surrounded by the most magnificent views of the Snowdonia Mountains and across the estuary to Portmeirion village. In the mountains behind the village (the Rhinogau) are lovely walking countryside with ancient Drovers routes high in the mountains with elevated views of the coastline.
Getting around
Barmouth and the wonderful Mawddach estuary is just 30min, Beddgelert Snowden village is also 30min drive. The famous Coed y Brenin mountain bike trails is 20min by car.
There is a bus service through the village by Arriva Wales.
The Cambrian Coast railway stops at the village and the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway narrow-gauge are nearby, with Porthmadog (5miles) the link between the two railways.
