Interaction with guests
Còsagach– an old Scottish word which describes the feeling of being snug, sheltered or cosy – has been identified by VisitScotland as Scotland’s rival to the Danish concept of Hygge. 'Cosy' is one of the words most used by visitors to describe Keeper's Cottage. Even the name Skeabost means 'sheltered house'. We do everything we can to provide our guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This includes providing a vast amount of tourist information literature. In emergencies our cleaner can be contacted for help and advice.

Cozy cottage life. So relaxing. We enjoyed our stay very much. The short and safe walk to the hotel gave us to option of having a meal and pint out when we wanted. But we could also stay “at home” and feel very happy.

About the neighbourhood
Keeper's Cottage overlooks the attractive Loch Snizort Beag. There are many good walks within easy reach of the cottage. A favourite is the woodland lochside path, past the Skeabost Country House Hotel and the impressive Snizort River to the fascinating and historic burial ground of St Columba's Isle. Also just a few yards from the cottage is a pleasant woodland walk along the River Tora, ideal for dog walking. The excellent restaurant and bar of the Skeabost Country House Hotel are just a few minutes' walk away. Also not to be missed is the Edinbane Inn, along the road towards Dunvegan, with its first class restaurant and bar meals and traditional music sessions. Nearby, Portree also has many excellent eateries and shopping facilities.
Getting around
Keeper's Cottage is on a regular bus route between Portree and Dunvegan. The island is well catered for by bus services. There are also numerous small buses offering guided tours of the island and its main attractions and wildlife as well as a number of local taxi services. The nearest railway station is at Kyle of Lochalsh on the mainland side of the Skye Bridge.
