Fantastic, unique property, spacious rooms, high ceilings and very light, great views, and the East Wing self accommodation contained everything we needed. A quick stroll to North Tawton village. Jean (the owner) is very friendly and was very responsive to our booking.

About the neighbourhood
Central Devon is an excellent location for exploring the Tors of Dartmoor and the coasts of North Devon and Cornwall. There are historical market towns - Tavistock, Okehampton, Crediton, Hatherleigh - to visit with independent shops and indoor/outdoor markets. Many of the local villages have pubs enjoying reputations for good food and beer. Cycling, walking, visiting gardens -RHS Rosemoor - and National trust properties are among the many activities that you can enjoy across the county. Exeter and Plymouth have theatres and cinemas whilst some of the smaller towns have their own music festivals.
Getting around
Although not absolutely essential a car is recommended if you want to travel around the area. There is a bus service to North Tawton from Exeter, where there's a railway station and coach station. Exeter Airport is about 20 miles away. There are several cycle trails in the area.
How to get there
From Exeter (M5) follow A30 direction to Okehampton & Bodmin for 15 minutes; take the A3124 exit at Whiddon Down signposted for Winkleigh & Great Torrington. Go past the services and take the next right turn on to A3124 for North Tawton. Follow the twisting road until you reach a cross road (A3072). Go straight across and continue on the approach to North Tawton. Follow the road through the town into the square, keep right of the Clock Tower and go straight across into North Street. Go along North Street past the bowling club on your right and garage on left, follow the road up the hill past Bouchiers Close on the right and Bouchers Hill on the left.
