The pretty market town of Kingsbridge is only two miles away and contains many shops, cafes and a new sports centre, Churchstow has a shop and post office and a pub which cooks delightful meals and only six miles away from the sailing mecca of Salcombe. It is ideally placed for sandy beaches at Thurlestone and Hope Cove and for exploring Dartmoor. For golfers there are first class courses at Bigbury and Thurlestone. The fine old town of Dartmouth is nearby with it's interesting shops and buildings. Panoramic views of surrounding countryside and Salcombe.

1960s-70s style bungalow. Pleasantly warm from night storage heaters. Beds firm but comfortable, plenty of spare bedding available. Comfortable settees - big enough to sink into but firm enough to be supportive. Kitchen well equipped. Everything very clean. Use of lockable garage for storing bikes...More

Everything you could possibly have wished for in this superbly equipped bungalow and beautifully cared for home. We so enjoyed our stay, it was lovely. Thank you so much, we'd love to come back.

About the neighbourhood
The ancient market town of Kingsbridge lies betwixt Plymouth, to the west, Torbay to the east and Dartmoor to the north and is the historic and natural centre of the South Hams. Kingsbridge can truly claim to be the “hub of the wheel” from which to explore this beautiful area.

The modern town of Kingsbridge is actually made up of two medieval towns, Kingsbridge and Dodbrooke, originally a quarter of a mile apart. Kingsbridge and the lands around it passed into the possession of the Abbots of Buckfast Abbey some time after the Norman Conquest. The Abbot of Buckfast was granted the right to hold a market in Kingsbridge in 1219, his monks selling their produce of honey, fruit, vegetables and thick cream, and so began the tradition of Kingsbridge as a market town, which continues to this day....
