Barley Meadow is a delightful cottage barn conversion with a large private fully enclosed garden and views over surrounding fields and up onto Dartmoor. Very dog friendly, it is completely self contained and private and is Ideal for families and couples. Located on a working smallholding with chickens, sheep and horses, fresh eggs when available and lambs in spring, it is located in a beautiful rural part of West Devon and is central to North and South Devon and the Cornwall coast, yet only two miles from the A30. We are within 1/2 hour's drive of Bude, the City of Exeter and the old Dartmoor market town of Tavistock, with many lovely country pubs and extensive walking, hiking, horse riding and cycle hire over Dartmoor within 10 to 20 minute drive. As we live on site, we are here as much or as little as you need us. We are very dog friendly and there is a designated area to let the dogs run off lead. We provide the basic necessities to give you a good start to your holiday with bread, farm eggs, coffee, tea, milk etc, so if you arrive late, there is at least something for a snack and breakfast. We try to be on site to say hello when you arrive, but the key will be in the door ready for your arrival should you arrive late. There is outside lighting to help with dark evenings. Large soft bath towels, hotel linen bedding, lux shower gels and towelling robes for the Hot Tub are all included.

An amazing stay at this wonderful cottage. Plenty of space, stunning location and everything you could want provided. Lovely surprise to arrive to a hamper of food and cream tea. The hosts were so lovely and welcoming. Great hot tub which we made use of even in February. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!!

Cannot recommend this place enough. Jackie and Peter are amazing hosts and the cottage was spacious, clean, tidy and well equipped. The hot tub was well maintained (and well used by us despite the poor weather!) The enclosed garden made it ideal for the dogs and it was in a great location with spectacular views. Beautiful scenery, very well equipped and very comfortable. Jackie and Peter are very friendly and helpful hosts and welcomed us and our dogs. Barley Meadow is great as a place for a relaxing getaway and is also very conveniently located for getting to places in Devon and Cornwall including the beaches near Bude. Highly recommended

About the neighbourhood
Luddon Farm is surrounded by neighbouring farms, working mostly sheep and cattle. Bratton Clovelly, is our closest village with the well respected Clovelly Inn and Bridestow with the White Hart, both offering good food. With Dartmoor about 5 minutes drive, it offers fantastic walking and horse riding. Close to Bude, Tavistock and Exeter, you will never be short of things to do, and there is something for everyone. We have the famous War Horse and Hatherleigh market 20 mins one direction and Holsworthy livestock market on route to Bude in the other direction.

On the A30 heading west towards Bodmin, take the exit at Sourton Cross signposted Tavistock. At the T Junction, turn left, under bridge and pass Services. Continue road for approx. 3 miles, at Roundabout, turn 1st left, signposted Halwill and Bude. Go through Thorndon Cross Village, after approx. 1 mile, turn left for Bratton Clovell. At Boasley Crossroads, take 1st left down road, pass pink house on left. 500 yrds on Luddon Farm is on right. If you follow Sat Nav from the A30, it is more direct although destination will be met at Rixton farm on the right, continue on for 1 mile up narrow steep hill. 16 gradiant! Luddon will be on the left.
