INNISFREE COTTAGE ,WOODENBRIDGE CO WICKLOW.
Most attractive detached cottage on an acre of enclosed lawned gardens, in a beautiful hillside location, with mountain views, in one of the most scenic areas of County Wicklow, which is known as “The Garden of Ireland”.
This individual cottage is only 3 mins drive from the noted “Woodenbridge Hotel” which is the oldest hotel in Ireland, Est 1608 and overlooks the amazing “Woodenbridge Golf Club” in the “Vale of Avoca”.
Avoca Village (less than 2 miles away) is where the BBC TV Series ‘Ballykissangel’ was filmed and it’s also the home of “Avoca Handweavers”…. It includes a Craft and Gift Shop, Visitor Centre, Café and tours of their ‘Weaving Mill’ which dates back to the year 1723. Well worth a visit! Arrival time is 4pm and departure time is 11am to facilitate with cleaning and preparation of the cottage. Bed linen and towels will be provided free of charge. Electricity and Gas central heating are charged as extras – both meters are read on arrival and departure and clients pay for whatever is used. There will be an information sheet on the kitchen table with instructions on the caretaker details and use of the heating & electricity meters, appliances etc. The caretaker lives a short distance away and will meet guests on arrival.

What a beautiful cottage and the surrouding area was great. The views from the garden were breathtaking. Met and fed the Cat everyday. Sheila took care of all our needs. We had a great time and will come back and visit again

This cottage was perfect for our stay. We stayed here for one week and everything was good! We even had a cat coming to the cottage every evening and morning. From the first step into the cottage we were amazed by the area, the cleaning...More

Local attractions include…. “Glendalough” (valley of two lakes), founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century, boasting fascinating monastic history and stunning scenery, Powerscourt House and Gardens, Avondale House and Forest Park (home of Charles Stewart Parnell), Glenmalure Valley and Waterfall, Wicklow Historic Jail, The Meetings - it was here in 1808 that the poet Thomas Moore composed the famous Irish melody “The Meeting of the Waters”. There are beaches at Arklow (6 miles), Clogha (8 miles), Ballymoney (9 miles), Courtown (11 miles) and just 12 miles away is the beautiful beach of “Brittas Bay”, with the renowned “European Golf Club” running alongside. Dublin is only 40 miles and easily accessible by train from local station.

TAKE THE M50 SOUTHBOUND FROM DUBLIN ALL THE WAY TO THE M11 MOTORWAY (SIGNPOSTED WEXFORD). LEAVE THE MOTORWAY AT JUNCTION 16 SIGNPOSTED RATHNEW / WICKLOW. IN RATHNEW TURN RIGHT AT THE ROUNDABOUT AT THE RATHNEW HOUSE PUB AND CONTINUE STRAIGHT PASSING RATHDRUM, THE MEETING OF THE WATERS AND AVOCA.
WHEN YOU PASS AVOCA YOU WILL ARRIVE IN WOODENBRIDGE – THE HOTEL IS ON YOUR RIGHT. TURN RIGHT AT THE HOTEL (AUGHRIM ROAD) AND TAKE THE FIRST SLIP ROAD ON YOUR RIGHT (ABOUT 100 YDS AFTER HOTEL). THIS IS A STEEP HILL AND AFTER A FEW METRES THERE IS A VERY SHARP U- BEND LEFT. CONTINUE ON THIS ROAD FOR APROX 1 MILE UNTIL YOU COME TO A 'Y' JUNCTION – TURN LEFT AND THE COTTAGE IS IMMEDIATELY ON YOUR LEFT. .
