Holiday Rental House
This cottage is a delightful Irish hideaway in a two-hundred-year old restored stone barn in County Kilkenny, Ireland. You will sleep well in the cosy hand made bed and stroll along the ancient footpaths in the private native woodlands - be careful not to disturb the fairies there! Our property has views to the Blackstairs Mountains for hill-walking and the River Barrow meanders through our town with house boats moored along the quays. There is a fully equipped open plan kitchen, a wood burning stove fireplace, a private terrace for relaxing on at the end of the day of exploring and access to washer and dryer for getting the mud off if your outdoor adventures are really physical. Interaction with guests
I live and work from the adjacent main house so if you need something just ask, though I will respect your privacy during your stay. There are plenty of tourist information leaflets in the cottage and I am happy to chat to you about local interest if that is what you would prefer. Graig-na-Managh is a lovely small town with a large abbey from 1204 and some lovely walks along the river.

About the neighbourhood
Graig-na-Managh (Valley of the monks) is a small town of 1,700 people and is situated in the heart of the south-east within a one hour drive of many of the main attractions of Ireland's Ancient East. The town is on the river Barrow which is navigable so there are many house boats moored along the quayside giving a lovely relaxing feel to the place. The open sea is less than an hour away at Hook Head which boasts the oldest working lighthouse in Europe. Kilkenny city with all its medieval attractions is only thirty five minutes away and we are two hours from Dublin airport.
Getting around
There is limited public transport and so a car is highly recommended. There have been a few visitors stay without a car and were content to relax in the cottage and walk around the private woodland on-site here. With a car the main towns and attractions of the south-east are within a 75 minute drive.
