Set in the centre of The Lizard and walking distance to the beach and lighthouse. Dog friendly property with plenty of coastal walks. Cooking facilities within cottage along with separate shower room. Nearby road parking with easy access to shops, restaurants and local pubs. Short walk to the most southerly point of England, The Lizard Lighthouse. Head south on to the Lizard and the scenery changes. The rare geology of the area creates a haven for exceptional plants and flowers. Around the coastline you’ll find little fishing ports with huge granite sea walls to protect from the Atlantic gales, restaurants specialising in freshly caught seafood, and gorgeous sandy bays with jagged black rocks jutting out in to the sea. Stand right on the tip of the Lizard and look out to sea. At 49°57' N, the most southerly point on the UK’s mainland, watch the waves as they hurtle to the shore and imagine the thousands of ships that have passed by this treacherous part of the coast on their way across the Atlantic. The villages are picture book perfect with tiny thatched cottages clinging together at the ends of the valley in coves where a small fleet of fishing boats catch fresh crab and lobster. In pubs by the shore there’s folk music and traditional Cornish singing. Reasons to visit The Lizard Plenty of picturesque coves + beaches to keep you occupied: Kynance Cove, Kennack Sands, Coverack beach and more South West Coast Path walks including The Lizard to Coverack Designated as a National Character Area Lies within Cornwall's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Things to do Sit at Kynance Cove and simply enjoy the view of the spectacular beach. Billed as having white sand (although it’s a tad beige, in fact), the reflected sunlight turns the water turquoise. Walk along the thick harbour walls at Mullion Cove dramatically surrounded by tall stacks of black volcanic rock. Climb up to the hotel on the hill and take in the view Visit St Winwaloe Church located right on the beach at Gunwalloe Church Cove. Dating from the 13th century and also, due to its location, known as the Church of Storms, there is a separate bell tower behind the church and inside you’ll find a 16th century rood screen made of wood from a Portuguese wreck. Visit the Lizard Lighthouse and find out more about maritime history in the visitor centre and enjoy the views from the top of the lighthouse. Visit Roskilly's farm and watch ice cream and fudge being made, enjoy local food and in the Croust House and walk it off while exploring the nature trails around the farm. Enjoy one of Anne's famous pasties whilst looking out over mainland Britain's most southerly point. Visit the camels at Rosuick Organic Farm. Visit the Marconi Centre at Poldhu Cove and discover the fascinating historical advances made in transatlantic radio communication. Take a diving trip and discover dozens of shipwrecks off the notorious Manacles rocks. Enjoy a sea fishing trip and catch your supper. Explore picturesque villages, coves and harbours such as Coverack, Cadgwith, Portholland and St Keverne More
