At Pebbledrift Cottage we have everything you need for your self catering holiday in Charlestown. Our beautiful, granite fronted, self catering cottage has been designed to blend with the charming surroundings of the historic port of Charlestown. The cottage is one of a small group of seven cottages based around a central courtyard. It is 100 yards from Charlestown harbour and Charlestown's two beaches which are recommended by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) for their excellent water quality and has European designated bathing water.

Wonderful base for our half term break with 9yr old and 4yr old. 30 mins drive from most cornwall attractions. Clean tidy and very welcoming! Cornish cream tea on arrival .....very thoughtful. Bedrooms on ground floor cooler than kitchen/ diner upstairs. All cooking / cleaning...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Pebbledrift cottage. The accommodation was incredibly comfortable and beautifully clean, with all the amenities that we required in a stunning location. We can't wait to return!

About the neighbourhood
There will be no need to get the car out to find somewhere to good to eat, as within easy walking distance of the cottage there are two pubs which serve food and excellent local ales, as well as a restaurant which specialises in locally caught fish. 'Charlie's' across the road serves breakfasts, light meals and cream teas. You can buy delicious pasties at the local kiosk and locally made ice creams.

There are craft shops, a gift shop and a gallery too. There is also a fascinating Shipwreck and Heritage Centre.

The coast path can be picked up in Charlestown. This offers some of the County's most spectacular view points.

Golfers are very well catered for too - Carlyon Bay golf course , Porthpean golf course and St Austell golf course are all just minutes away.

Getting around
There are local bus stops and services directly opposite the cottage. The mainline station (St Austell) is around 2 miles away and can be reached easily by walking, bus, or local taxi. If you are arriving by train it is also possible to hire a car with direct collect/return from the station. Charletown is a very convenient location for exploring Cornwall by Car with most destinations (e.g Lands End, St Ives, Plymouth, Dartmoor etc) possible within 90 mins. The local bus and rail connections are also very good.

Train to St Austell then either bus or taxi to Charlestown.
Plane to Newquay airport taxi or hire car to Charlestown.

St Austell is on main London-Penzance line with good connections to several main towns of interest Bodmin, Plymouth, Truro, Penzance and St Ives ideal for short breaks or if you wish to leave the car behind for a change. A car is of course useful for accessing the many beaches, country estates, famous gardens, the Eden project, and other well known attractions. Charlestown, St Austell is centrally located and is therefore a useful base from which to explore the rest of Cornwall.
