About the neighbourhood
The beach is lovely for small children, with safe bathing as well as an array of activities for everyone else, including surfing, sailing and fishing, riding and an 18 hole golf course.

Many people also come to Filey to watch the birds, at either the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs, Filey Brigg and the Dams Nature Reserve.
Filey is also at the end of two well known long distance footpaths, The Cleveland Way and The Wolds Way. And for more walking and mountain biking, try Ryedale and the North York Moors, including towns such as Pickering, Helmsley, Malton and the village of Goathland (Heartbeat Country).

But whether you're walking, cycling, touring or simply pottering about on the beach in the rockpools, Filey is an ideal base for a relaxing holiday and exploring Yorkshire.
