Tinos, Cyclades, South Aegean
Tinos Ecolodge is a small lodge in Nature, surrounded by the fantastic Aegean sea and the island terraced landscape. Its situated at the east coast of Tinos, near a river stream with old plane trees and oak trees, very rare ecosystem for the Aegean! Totally peaceful, with small rural activities around, pigeon houses, sheep keepers, vegetable gardens as well as olive groves and orchards. The beaches are only 2km away down the hill, makes this place a small holiday paradise. It consists of 2 stone houses, independent from each other with their own private terraces and at a distance that contains privacy. Its ideal for families and friends.
The Eco concept is very important to us! The facilities are powered totally by a photovoltaic system, there is a sewage separation system which filters grey water through a reedbed system and composts the...

Interaction with guests
We will be gardening most of the time so we will be around for advices and questions about the island and interesting places to visit. Also, we might organise a drink or a barbecue at the garden kitchen, which is a common space for everyone to use, depending on the time of year, but usually all through the summer.

We have just returned from a fantastic 12-day stay at the smaller of Marilia's two stone Ecolodge houses, and it was everything we could have wished for - serenity, peacefulness and natural simplicity in a harmonious environment with a stunning view of the sea. The...More

About the neighbourhood
Tinos Ecolodge is situated in the east coast of the island, under the village Potamia and Steni. In Steni, 2km away, you can find 2 small shops to buy groceries and essentials, a bakery, a pharmacy, a coffeeshop and 2 restaurants.

We are in the middle of the road going down to the beaches, another 2km down the hill. There are two beaches nearby, Santa Margarita sandy beach, with turquoise colored waters, favourite among the locals because its protected from the wind and Lychnaftia pebble beach with lots of tamarisks for shade and crystal clear waters. Its a 5 min drive or 20 minute walk downhill, coming up is harder!

Around the Ecolodge there is no other inhabited building in the whole area, only small farms and gardens, occasionally occupied by sheep and goats, some pigeon houses,...

How to get there
Ferry: Tinos port: 15.0 km
Getting to Tinos is basically quite easy. If you travell in the summer it is possible to take an airplane to Mykonos from where it is only 30 min by boat to Tinos. If travelling outside of the main season it will be necessary to fly to Athens. From the airport you can take a bus to the harbour of Rafina, wich runs at least once every hour and takes about 30 min. The boat from Rafina to Tinos leaves twice a day, one in the morning 8am and one in the evening at 5.30pm and takes around 4 hours. There are faster boats during the day which take around 2 hours but are double the price, It is also possible to take the boat from Pireas harbour, which leaves 7.30 in the morning and takes 5 hours. Tickets for the ferries are available at each harbour.
