A beautiful newly renovated and professionally styled cottage offering luxurious accommodation for two in the pretty village of Thornham. There is a lovely open-plan living area with modern kitchen, rustic shelving and breakfast bar opening onto a cosy lounge with comfy sofa and log burner. Upstairs is simply stunning with a beautifully appointed and roomy bedroom and en suite bathroom with large walk-in shower and roll top bath. Outside there is a fabulous garden with private terrace and lawn, and off road parking for one car.

We arrived on a Friday at 4pm. Initial impressions of the interior were good, curtains drawn & lights left on for us. We were so looking forward to our quiet weekend away.
What is not advertised, and the pictures are very cleverly taken to suggest otherwise is that the cottage is right next to the main road through Thornham. The traffic noise is terrible as the trucks are thundering past a few metres from your outside wall, needless to say we slept very badly over the three nights we were there. We couldn’t open the bedroom window as the road noise would not allow you to sleep.
There is still work going on in the cottage next door. The Friday we arrived we had to endure listening to the builder constantly swearing in the back garden.
Saturdaymorning arrived and at 9am a delivery of furniture arrived for next door. They proceeded to march up & down outside our front window over the noisy gravel and then decided to unpack said piece of furniture literally right in...

Fantastic bathroom and very comfortable bed but this is where it ends....arrived to cold and dark cottage (we had been forgotten but when we asked about WI-fi the following day at the Deli opposite (who own the cottage) the staff realised and apologised and sorted us out with a generous hamper that had not been left for us the previous day, all good. We were rather spooked by the next door cottage which was rather run-down and had some bad reviews from previous occupants of the holiday cottage but the guest book stated that the resident of the adjoining cottage was moving out and it then emerged that the 33 brand had recently purchased the cottage. Al the windows had been left wide open which was not a problem until the wind got up and all the internal doors started banging during the early hours of Wednesday morning. The staff at the Deli said they would arrange for the caretaker to close the windows so that we would not be disturbed again, that was great. However on Thursday...
