Dove Cottage is a lovely terraced cottage situated in the village of Tideswell in the Peak District National Park. The cottage can sleep two people, either together in the double bedroom or separately in the double bedroom and the second single bedroom. This cottage is full of character and includes a log burning stove for those cosy nights in! Pets are welcome - please note that this cottage does not have any outdoor space - but there are numerous short and long walks available from the door.

Dogs welcome at no extra charge but are to remain downstairs and off the furniture. We do not set arbitrary limits on the number of dogs take but like to ensure that the cottage is large enough for them to be comfortable - so please tell us about any dogs when you enquire.

Cottage on the whole was good but wouldn't say it was comfortable as mattress had seen better days.Would have liked to have had a bulb in the bedroom light and also a bedside light and the stereo did not work.Would have given it 5 stars...More

About the neighbourhood
Tideswell itself is a bustling village made up of narrow alleys, lanes and roads set around character squares. Best known as home to the Cathedral of the Peak, it has a thriving range of local shops and amenities including a selection of good, local, pet friendly food serving pubs. Perfectly suited to lovers of the great outdoors, a selection of walking trails are available to take you in and around the village and local area. The traffic free Monsal Trail, which runs from Bakewell to Buxton, can be reached through Tideswell Dale (cycle hire is available a 10-minute drive away), and both the Pennine Way and Limestone Way are nearby. The spa town of Buxton and market town of Bakewell are both around a 15-minute drive
Getting around
We have had a number of guests who have stayed at the cottage without a car and got around on public transport happily. However to get to the more remote parts of the Peak District an car - or bicycle for keen cyclists - is recommended
