Holiday Rental House
The Wheelhouse at Staveley is a unique holiday let in the busy village of Staveley; it's a great base for exploring the locality and the Lake District. Located on the doorstep of the Kentmere valley and being only 4 miles from Kendal and Windermere, it provides good and easy access to many of the Lake District's varied attractions. Residing either side of the entrance to a small industrial site, the Wheelhouse at Staveley and the Weslyan Church, were both converted around 2014/15; the Wheelhouse to a holiday-let and the former Church to three residential houses; both representing clever conversions of former redundant buildings. The industrial site has typical traffic movements (deliveries to/from and fork-lift movements); mostly during Mon-Fri during the daytime, but occasional movement...The Wheelhouse at Staveley is a unique holiday let in the busy village of Staveley; it's a great base for exploring the locality and the Lake District. The industrial site has typical traffic movements (deliveries to/from and fork-lift movements); mostly during Mon-Fri during the daytime, but occasional movements and noise out of hours and at weekends. The property accommodates and sleeps up to 6 people, it's well equipped with a few special touches that make it a great base for families, groups or couples. The Wheelhouse at Staveley is not a typical country cottage, it's a unique building in a busy thriving location. The village is busy and hosts a large number of events such as the Tour-de-Staveley, the Fred Whitton Challenge, the Lakeland Trail runs, the Sam Houghton challenge, bi-annual carnival and a number of beer festivals at the local brewery or village pub. The village is busy and thriving; a short stroll away is the largest UK cycle store, the quirky 'Mill Yard' and as a recently re-invented building itself, the property resides close to Staveley's own fitness gym a well renowned stone supplier and manufacturer and other small businesses. One well behaved pet is allowed and short breaks are possible. Bedroom 1 has two single beds, Bedrooms 2 and 3 have king size beds. There are 2 modern shower rooms and a superb Swedish style sauna (pay-as-you-use) where you can relax and unwind. The lounge and dining areas are both very comfortable and the modern well equipped kitchen is high spec with all mod-cons, Induction hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer and breakfast bar. A washing machine is also available for guest use. The fixtures, fittings, bedding and towels are all of a high quality and there is free WiFi. A high chair and travel cot are always made available at no extra charge. There is a courtyard to the front of the property and there is reserved parking for 2 vehicles to the rear of the property. If necessary guests can park in the courtyard as they prefer. The Wheelhouse is perfectly positioned for exploring Staveley and the Kentmere Valley with its fabulous trails, walks and climbs, being directly located on the road from Staveley to the Kentmere Valley. The Kentmere Valley is regarded as the entrance to the mecca of mountain biking and the trails and walks start straight out of the front door. Staveley is a busy, thriving village and the property is easily accessible directly off the main road from Staveley to Kentmere and is perfectly positioned for exploring the beautiful Lake District. Literally open the front door and pick your walk, local to Craggy Wood, a little more adventurous to Potters Tarn and Guernal Dubbs or why not pack your lunch and head off to walk the Kentmere Horseshoe! The Wheelhouse at Staveley is only 300m from the centre of the village and its many welcoming and varied patrons so after your walk why not head to the Eagle and Child for a pub lunch, try the tapas at the Hawkshead Brewery, Wilf's for a veggie chilli, the More? Bakery for a fresh croissant and bread, a great coffee and cake at Café Eclec or Mr Duffin's coffee den....there's lots more. Staveley is a great place for cyclists and at the Wheelhouse we have provided facilities to make your stay more comfortable and hassle free. So why not bring your bike on holiday as a few special touches certainly make life easier for the recreational enthusiast? The property has a heated drying room where you can put your wet gear in at the end of the day, there's a secure cycle/equipment store with a few useful tools. The equipment store(s) are also perfect if you have a young family, at the end of the day simply push your buggies and prams into the stores with piece of mind and not having to pack them into your car!More

We stayed here in October 2018. The property is very cleverly laid out with brilliant use of the space. The property is very deceptive and far bigger inside than appears on the outside. It's situated at the entrance to a small industrial estate - yes...More
