Lorton, Cockermouth, Lake District, Cumbria, England
Little Swinside Cottage with its old oak beams and other period features was originally built as a barn attached to High Swinside Farmhouse. There are three holiday cottages here sharing an idyllic hillside location overlooking the peaceful Vale of Lorton - one of the Lake Districts hidden gems.

Little Swinside cottage enjoys these views from its patio and snug patio room - looking down the Lorton valley towards Melbreak beyond Crummock Water. In the shared garden you will find peaceful benches for enjoying the views, hammocks, a wooden hot tub, and even a special enclosed area where dogs can run free in safety (one well-behaved dog is welcome in this size of cottage).

Little Swinside cottage is well-equipped, with good wifi. (A washing machine, tumbler drier and chest freezer available in the basement). There is plenty of parking ava...

What a beautiful place. High swinside is located in a remote and quiet location, with stunning views over the valley. The hot tub is a great touch and is located perfectly for the views, we sat out in it under the stars one night too!...More
