About the neighbourhood
Broughton in Furness is a quaint Lake District village, boasting several good pubs, cafes and eateries, an award winning bakery, and a splendid butcher and greengrocer. There is also a newsagent and a tourist information centre in the Square, just up from the CGP Pitstop garage, which sells fuel and a goodly selection of other consumables.

Only 25 minutes from either Barrow in Furness, or Coniston, the central Lakes are then easily accessed within an hour of the village, so a great base to explore all the surrounding areas of the western Lake District have to offer.
Getting around
A car is by far the most convenient way. There is a limited rural bus service which will take you to Ulverston or Barrow. The nearest train station is Foxfield, about a mile away, and from there you can catch trains to Barrow in Furness or Millom, and as far north as Carlisle if you want to explore a little further afield.

Airport: Manchester: 160.0 km
Railway: Foxfield: 0.5 km
Leave the M6 motorway at J36 and take the A590 west towards Barrow and Newby Bridge. Continue on the A590 past Newby Bridge and after 5 miles take the second exit on the roundabout onto the A5092 (which becomes the A595) to Broughton-in-Furness. After around 12 miles, drive past the first sign for Broughton, going through Foxfield (railway line on left) and take the second sign (some miles on from the first one) on the right. Drive up this road (Foxfield Road) for approximately 1 mile and turn left immediately after the building signed Broughton Surgery - where there is a low stone wall with a flat top – into Copper Rigg road.
Pass the parking spaces for the Surgery and follow the access road round as it bends right into a cul-de-sac. Ther...
