Hetty’s Stables is a beautiful semi-detached barn conversion which sleeps seven guests, in three smart bedrooms, with three well presented ensuite bathrooms. Named after the family’s beloved first pony, this recently converted property has been finished to a high standard with modern facilities including wireless internet access, a Freeview TV, underfloor heating in the ground floor living areas and a well-equipped kitchen. There is a private patio area at the rear of the property and beyond this lies a vast lawn which is shared with Flynn’s Barn. Sat within the grounds of Aylworth Cottage, guests are welcome to wander the eight acres of land which form the owners’ estate, and for keen riders, horses can be stabled in the paddocks by prior arrangement with the owners. There is off-street parking for up to three cars on the shared driveway at the front of the property. Hetty’s Stables is situated in the peaceful hamlet of Aylworth, a picturesque spot in the heart of the Cotswolds which offers an abundance of walking, riding and cycling trails. Footpaths crossing the neighbouring fields lead to the nearby villages of Naunton, Cold Aston and Guiting Power, all home to popular country inns including The Black Horse Inn and The Hollow Bottom. The much-loved village of Bourton-on-the-Water is only four miles away and can be walked to following The Windrush Way walking trail, a scenic route over the hills which links Winchcombe to Bourton. Bourton has a range of pubs, restaurants and tearooms to enjoy and in the quiet hamlet of Notgrove stands The Nuttery, a newly opened community hub which serves delicious food during the day. Whilst enjoying a tranquil rural setting, Hetty’s Stables is ideally located for exploring the many lovely towns and villages of the North Cotswolds including Stow-on-the-Wold, The Slaughters and Broadway. The regency spa town of Cheltenham is just 12 miles away, host to an impressive calendar of festivals including the renowned Cheltenham Festival, one of the most popular horse racing events in the UK. World-famous tourist destinations such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Bath are all easily accessible for day trips. House Rules Security deposits A security deposit of £200 is payable, which is returned after the letting period, subject to an inspection of the property. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival. In the event that the owners, or their appointed housekeepers, have to spend additional time tidying up after your departure, then the cost of this extra time may be deducted from your security deposit. Occupancy The maximum occupancy of the property, including its grounds, is seven guests, at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than seven guests at the property. Infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions, the occupancy figure may only be exceeded by up to two additional infants. About the neighbourhood
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone 'wool churches'. The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
Getting around
The Cotswolds is a rural location and whilst there is access to public transport, it is highly recommended that you have a car.
