Lovely, airy cabin with mountain views, stone fireplace, and comfy beds. Echo Laurel Cabin is a perfect place to write, read, create, or decompress. The master loft suite and one of the downstairs bedrooms have desks. This cabin also is a terrific home base if you want to venture out to see the sights and culture of the area, or throw yourself into the more athletic activities of the mountains and their rivers and streams. This cabin is not a place for parties. Simple and 'rustic' enough for a great mountain cabin feel without compromising on modern conveniences or amenities. Mountain or wooded views from every window. The cabin is very private but not completely secluded. I and various family members stay at the cabin frequently so some of our clothes, toiletries, and dry foods may be there. Bring your food, and everything else you need to prepare delicious meals is provided in my fully-equipped kitchen. Start your mornings with the hummingbirds and a cup of coffee on the deck. If you're lucky, you'll be able to enjoy a soft mountain rain from the covered deck. You will soon see why these mountains are called the Great Smokies. Weekend stays require a 3-night minimum stay. On occasion, I am able to accommodate last minute weekend plans for 2 nights. Not recommended for small children because of stairs (inside and outside the cabin) and steep terrain. Children will need supervision; cabin is not suitable for some restricted mobilities. You will have access to the entire home; only you and your guests will be there. The cabin has phone service with free long distance calls, two televisions, a DVD player, and high speed WiFi. Feel free to use anything you have access to, but please replace anything you use up. Head over to Asheville, Maggie Valley, or Cherokee for the afternoon or the day. Check out the eclectic shops, eateries, and bookstores in nearby Dillsboro and Sylva. Drive up to Highlands for stunning views, hiking, and magnificent waterfalls. Or spend the day in Franklin exploring the work of mountain artists and craftspeople, shopping in the antique and upcycle stores, and dining from a variety of restaurants. Wind down at one of Franklin's coffee & tea shops, bookstores, or bakeries. Then head back to the cabin and spend the evening in rocking chairs on the deck or in the adirondack chairs in the yard enjoying the view before ending the day in front of the fireplace. More

I stay at the cabin regularly but do not live there. During your stay, I am a phone call, text message, or email away and I have family who live nearby who help me take care of my place.

This cabin is everything we wanted for our short mountain retreat. I wish I could have stayed longer. It is in a very private location, but, as Amber noted, you don't feel isolated. We met a couple of the neighbors while walking my dog and...More

About the neighbourhood
The cabin is in a sparsely populated community that is tucked away, quiet, private, and beautiful. Yet it is only minutes from stores, restaurants, recreation, and entertainment. Paved access except for the last 1.2 miles, which is gravel road. Beautiful sights no matter which direction you turn or drive.
