We are less than 10 minutes from Kingston with its vibrant restaurants and arts scene; Rosendale, High Falls and Stone Ridge are 10 minutes away; New Paltz, Mohonk, Woodstock and Rhinebeck are 20 minutes away and the Shawangunks and Hyde Park are only 25 minutes away. We are also only 25 minutes from skiing at Belleayre Mountain.
The house has one bedroom with a queen size bed and direct access to the bathroom. There is also a reading/sleeping loft with a full size bed, accessed by a very steep, narrow staircase, not really suitable for children.
The master bedroom has a wood burning stove, private porch and bluestone patio. There is a large living area with a sofa, TV and DVD player, a turntable with a great selection of old vinyl, and some great speakers and room to dance. There is a dining area, a fully-equipped small and funky kitchen with its own breakfast porch, and a bathroom with a tub and shower.
There is plenty of outdoor space with a table and seating as well as a gas grill. No landscaped gardens here...the deer eat everything I plant!
The house is set back from a country road by a 100 ft. driveway in a rural neighborhood of small houses outside the historic village of Hurley with its beautiful old stone houses. It has a very woodsy cabin feel to it and is not really overlooked by any other homes; it feels quite private without being isolated. The woods are raw and inhabited by both Deer and Bear. The Thruway is about 1/4 of a mile from the house but cannot be seen.
