Perched on the ocean's edge, Whale Huys Eco Villa has beautiful unobstructed sea views from all living areas, dining areas and bedrooms. Fall asleep and wake to the sound of the waves gently lapping at the rocks below. Each of the four bedroom opens onto its own sea front balcony. The uninterrupted panoramic views of Walker Bay and the surrounding mountain range extend to Hangklip and even Cape Point on a clear day. Next to the infinity pool, a private path through the fynbos takes you to the water's edge and links to a walking trail that extends from Gansbaai on one end to the pristine beaches of the Walker Bay Nature Conservancy near Hermanus on the other.
Less than two hours to Cape Town International Airport, Whale Huys is well positioned as a weekend escape from Cape Town or Johanne...

fantastic house with great view and facilities
We had a marvelous last week of our vacation. It is a great house, clean and with good and modern facilities. Except from the four bathrooms you have a great undisturbed view from all rooms over de sea, lot of wales and on distance Hermanus. The reality is even more beautiful than the photos suggest. On short distance from Cape town, a nice central place for visiting nice places as Betty's bay (pinguins), wineries, botanical garden, Hermanus.

I'm delighted to hear that you and your group had such a nice stay and saw so many whales. It sounds like you made some great excursions as well. There is really so much to do in the area, I hope you'll be back!

Beautiful view
We stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of November and the first thing that strikes you entering the house is the amazing vista through the wide windows. It was truly a wow! moment. It is a very well appointed house, with I think everything you could need to be self catering. Very comfortable furnishings. Being a bit of a woos I was slightly disconcerted being under the thatch roof in one of the upstairs bedrooms. A few bits drop down onto the bed, but nothing creepy crawly as far as I knew!! Used to it, by the second night!
The scenery is truly spectacular. It was so beautiful there, we spent most of the time relaxing on the sundeck keeping an eye open for whales. Disappointingly for us we didn't see any, but we did see a very large pod of dolphins which was great. Lovely birds about the place too - they like their bird bath to be topped up.
Easy trip in the car back to Hermanus for lunch. Only drove through Stanford, but that looks worth a visit too.
A really lovely stay.

Dear Jane, Glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry to hear you didn't see whales -- there were fewer whales reported in the bay this past year, some people think it may have to do with water temperatures, but we're hopeful that they will be back in numbers next year. I am happy you saw a pod of dolphins -- very beautiful and elegant creatures. We hope to welcome you back at some point in the future.

Fanstic stay by the ocean!
We stayed with our 2 girls at the end of October for 4 nights. The area is very nice with big impressive houses at the waterfront. We spotted whales from the house and walking trails almost every day. We also saw a glimpse of dolphins once. I think we came as close as the whale watching boats do. The view from the house is absolutely fantastic and better than you could get from the nearby hotels. We used the pool every day and relaxed on the very nice pool deck. We enjoyed the easiness to take walks in the nature reserve, just outside the house. We really hope we can come back again!

Thanks for staying with us and thanks for your nice review. Your review pointed out what for me is one of the nicest aspects of Whale Huys: it's a great place for outdoor activities like hiking but also perfect place to relax and just look out over the ocean. At least for me, a great holiday involves both aspects. We hope to welcome you back sometime soon. Kind Regards, Bruce, Owner.

Location, location, location...
Had the immense pleasure of spending a few days at Whale Huys very recently. As many have already written it is indeed a lovely house, but for us...to be quite candid...it was all about the glorious, simply stupendous views over Walker Bay. Sweeping. Stunning. Awe inspiring. WOW !!! Yes...we really loved it here. This is a big house suited to a family or (possibly even better) 3 - 4 couples. All the bedrooms have wonderful views and are equally attractive in terms of furnishings, fittings and en-suite facilities. So there shouldn´t be any arguments about who gets best room. The master suite has a larger balcony and is conveniently located at entry level and the hub of the house. There were just 2 of us... one couple and we really enjoyed having the whole place to ourselves. There are TV´s, PC, sound system and more....but we spent all our waking hours drinking in those wonderful views from the bed, lounges, balconies and deck.... we enjoyed every minute. The owner was great to deal with...very quick to respond to any questions...very helpful and i´m sure any issues (we had none) would be handled promptly and efficiently. A super all round experience. Go for it!

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay so much, and yes, it is indeed, all about the views! You raised a good point -- although the house is quite big, and big enough for four couples, because the master bedroom is on the main floor even with just two people the house still feels quite cozy and not overwhelmingly large. Thank you for the fantastic review and thank you for being such good guests. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future! .

Peaceful and awe-inspiring!
Whale Huys is an incredible place to stay! It is in a beautiful location with a magnificent view of Walker Bay. The home is both luxurious and relaxing all at once. We saw Southern Right Whales breaching the water multiple times and seals playing in the waves almost immediately. We loved the area which is dotted with vineyards and fenbos landscapes. We spent a great day exploring historic Elim and hiking at close by Farm 215. Dinner at Farm 215 was truly lovely with home prepared gourmet food! There is nearby Great White Shark cage diving and a penguin colony. Our stay was a highlight of our Cape Town visit from the US.

Glad to hear you guys enjoyed your stay so much. I was please to hear you mentioned Elim as a highlight. Most people just associate the Whale Coast with its marine wildlife, so glad you guys were able to discover some of the cultural heritage and culinary delights of the region as well! Thanks for the very positive review!

Fantastic accommodation in an amazing location
Thank you for a wonderful stay in your villa.
This property was so comfortable for our family, nestled on the edge of the ocean with panoramic views of the bay (with plenty of whale action too!).
Really well located with a fantastic costal walk right on the door step. Plus lovely places to visit or dine in near by.
The villa is very well equipped with everything you might need. Including a gorgeous welcoming fire and fantastic views from every room.
Very nicely furbished and obviously well looked after and managed. We will return again as soon as possible.
Thank you

Thanks for the lovely review and glad you and your family had such a good stay. I was glad to hear you saw so many whales (they say there have been fewer this year, although we did just see a lovely pod of dolphins). I'm also happy to hear that you did the costal walk. It's such a lovely way to reconnect with the pristine nature in the area and get a bit of exercise at the same time! We love it, too. Hope to welcome you back soon.

Awesome stay
Our family stayed a few days in Whale Huys, and we enjoyed every minute. The location is just perfect, overlooking the bay with a fantastic view, from the living room and from all rooms. The villa is perfectly equipped and maintained. We had fast and clear exchanges with the owner before the trip to prepare our visit. We can only recommend it strongly

Fantastic Weekend
We had a fantastic weekend stay at this venue. Even though the weather was cold and miserable, the atmosphere and ambiance made up for it. The indoor fireplace kept the house warm and cozy while we cuddled up on the comfortable couches to watch the last few stages of the Tour de France. The views from this house were magnificent, capturing the beauty of the area with mountains, sea and amazing sunsets (we even saw some whales up close). The furnishings and decor are stunning and we wanted for absolutely nothing.

ausgezeichnet
Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert!!
