Perched on the ocean's edge, Whale Huys Eco Villa has beautiful unobstructed sea views from all living areas, dining areas and bedrooms. Fall asleep and wake to the sound of the waves gently lapping at the rocks below. Each of the four bedroom opens onto its own sea front balcony. The uninterrupted panoramic views of Walker Bay and the surrounding mountain range extend to Hangklip and even Cape Point on a clear day. Next to the infinity pool, a private path through the fynbos takes you to the water's edge and links to a walking trail that extends from Gansbaai on one end to the pristine beaches of the Walker Bay Nature Conservancy near Hermanus on the other.

This place is absolutely stunning.
We tagged a 4 day stay on to a hectic safari schedule and it was perfect for relaxing before coming home. The area is lovely and is great for walks. We partook in the cage diving which was local.
Highlight is watching the sun go down while watching the Whales in the bay breaching.

Eine wundervolle Unterkunft mit einem herrlichen Blick über das Meer. Tolle Lage, direkt am Meer, wunderschöner Wanderpfad direkt vor dem Haus. Auch im August empfehlenswert, drinnen Kaminofen und außen Hot Tub. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Perfect beach house for a great week with family
What a surprise, a self-catering house welcoming guests with a gift basket and flowers, thanks Bruce. We had a wonderful stay in this amazing venue where the living area and all rooms have an ocean view and have to mention, the deck, with a pool, braai, kitchenette, all overlooking the bay definitely our favourite spot (as well as the 4 and 8 year old who just loved the pool and the walking trails). We’ll soon be back for another visit!

What a place to spend Christmas!
We were so very privileged to spend four nights here twice in one trip! A short stay with friends and then Christmas with our family. With a month long of travelling all the way from the UK, Whale Huys was our haven for the ultimate relaxation.
From the very start of planning the trip and booking with Bruce, to our wonderful welcome from Leigh, the manageress, we couldn’t fault a thing.
This beautiful home has the perfect spot on the rocks in front of the sea, with views which took our breath away, and which changed daily. Our family Christmas was so very special here - memories of great braiis over the open fire, relaxing by the pool, lots of photo opportunities, walks to the nearby beach reserve, and one of the best meals at Springfontein Eats for a Boxing Day to remember!
Thank you Bruce for allowing us to share your little slice of heaven which is Whale Huys!

AWESOME BREAK FROM THE CITY
What an awesome getaway?! Waking up to the sounds of the ocean and a fresh sea breeze. Going for long walks along the coastline and soaking in the picturesque scenery and then socialising by the fire on the patio made for a wonderful break from the city. The house is very well stocked for family meals in and the wifi speed was surprisingly good! Will definitely be returning as soon as the opportunity arises. Thank you Whale & Guppy Huys.

Superbe maison avec beaucoup de cachet. Et des propriétaires charmants
Site magnifique et séjour enchanteur pour 7 personnes, un accueil très agréable et une maison, au bord de la falaise au-dessus de la mer, qui a énormément de charme. Encore plus belle en réalité qu'en photo !!!

Breathtaking views
This is a beaut of a house with fantastic views of the ocean and the surrounding mountains. Loved swimming in the pool and being outside on the deck. The rooms and bathrooms & kitchen is fully equipped, you need nothing else! Would love to go back again for longer ;)

BEST WEEKEND EVER!
I used this beautiful location to get ready with all my bridesmaids on my wedding day! We booked the place for the whole weekend and couldn't have asked for a better place and location. Owners were very accommodating in making sure the place was in tip top condition and added special detail for our special occasion. They also arranged a cleaner to be there on the day assisting where ever possible, and setting up for our big arrival home after the wedding! I cant wait to go back and relive our most special day! Thanks so much!!

Superb luxury - home away from home!
Beautifully appointed home with everything you need. Perfectly positioned right on the rocks, offering spectacular views. Sliding doors open wide to bring the outside in, and when the Cape weather turns, beautiful and cosy with the fireplace. We were a group of 8 and the house is large enough for everyone to find their comfort spot in a group or for some quiet time.
A wonderful nature trail on your doorstep; the unspoilt "Plaat" where we spent many full days lapping up the sun, the vast beach and wild waves. Pick fresh mussels! Many interesting areas around, wines farms and natures best!
The area is home to seals and dolphins and we were fortunate to see whales as well. Bruce the home owner was very accommodating with any of our requests and a pleasure to deal with. We booked for peak season 18 months in advance and enjoyed a fabulous memorable 16 night holiday! We can't wait to go back again.

Top Unterkunft mit genialer Sicht
Ein Haus in dem man gerne Uralub macht:
sehr gut ausgestatet, ruhig gelegen, mit viel Platz für alle und dazu noch die super Lage. Wr haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und können diese Unterkunft allen weiter empfehlen.

Located in the quiet, upmarket community De Kelders, Whale Huys is perfect for those seeking peace and quiet, yet still with easy access to all basic amenities. There is a bakery and restaurant just a few blocks away, while the town of Gansbaai (5 minutes by car) has 2 supermarkets, 2 banks, various shops, a spa, and a number of restaurants. Stanford (10 minutes by car) is known for its excellent country restaurants. Outdoor activities abound, including hiking, shark-cage diving, whale watching. The marine "Big 5" can all be seen within 15 minutes of the Villa

There is no public transport serving De Kelders and for most activities you will need a car. We can arrange for helicopter or aircraft transfer from Cape Town to De Kelders through Overberg Aviation.

How to get there
Coming from Hermanus on the R43, turn RIGHT into the first entrance to De Kelders (large stone sign Gansbaai, and a smaller stone sign on the far corner for De Kelders). This is Gutherie Street, Take the first paved LEFT onto Main Road (Hoofweg). After 600 metres take the 4th RIGHT onto Botha Street. Then take the 2nd right onto Ingang Street. Whale Huys is the first driveway almost immediately on your left, just along the wooden A-frame house.
