East Tawas, Michigan
Woodsy, private and pet-friendly spacious modern home in a great location across a quiet neighborhood street from Tawas Lake. Easy lake access with rowboat provided. Only one mile from the Lake Huron beachfront park and quaint shops of East Tawas, the nicest tourist destination on the Sunrise Coast.

WWII, hunting, and fishing antiques are displayed in the house to celebrate Glen's life and times. I will release a book in 2016 based on over 200 letters he wrote home to Ma during the Pacific War. I inherited the letters and the house from Glen, my best friend and outdoor fun mentor.

Fully updated with all new appliances in 2006, all new furniture in 2013. New queen gel bed in 2018. House is on three lots with huge oak trees and nice views of Tawas Lake and the surrounding woods (look for the deer!).

It was a cute place close to the lake and close to downtown. We enjoyed our stay. It had a queen bed, 2 twin beds and a full size air mattress which was perfect for us. It was clean and well maintained.

Thanks for the nice review. Note that it isn't a queen but a full bed. I'm planning to put a queen in next year. Thanks again for your business and review! Greg

Enjoyed having a full kitchen and two dining areas. When kids wanted TV at night I used the enclosed front porch to read. Neighbors were friendly and had helpful hints about where to visit. Kids caught fish in lake. Close to town and to state...More

Thanks, I'm happy you enjoyed your stay but sorry you didn't like the beds. They were new 3 years ago with all the other furniture in the house and are a good quality bed. Although I never particularly noticed it, apparently these beds are on...More

About the neighbourhood
My Tawas Lake Vacation home is located in a very quiet retiree and cottage neighborhood. There is easy access to Tawas Lake via a public alley directly across the street where you can leave the rowboat provided. It is very light and easy to carry to the lake. Life jackets are provided. Most of the Tawas Lake shoreline is wilderness. Tawas Lake is not a typical Michigan lake. There are rare wild rice beds on the lake and it's a great spot for quiet recreation and wildlife watching, although it's also large enough that small fishing boats with motors chase the good fishing to be had there.

The house is on three lots with undeveloped lots on two sides ensuring a peaceful time at the deck and nice views into the woods. There is ample parking on the property. The quiet and paved neig...
