I may not always be available to greet you but Phil and Alyson who help me with be there on your arrival to show you around and answer any questions you have. They are available to you during your stay and I am just on the end of the phone. There is a rich vein of things to do including walking, swimming, fishing, messing about on the river, sight-seeing or just sampling the many fine restaurants it's all close by.

We loved this charming house. It's old but has been modernised; particular asset is a huge garden, with views overlooking bridge, ruins and river Charente. Numerous outside eating opportunities. Nearby village has a top restaurant, and cities of Angoulême and Cognac aren't far away. We...More

About the neighbourhood
If you don't already know the area you will not be disappointed. It is spectacularly beautiful in all seasons. Hopefully my pictures give you a taste as to what is on your doorstep. It is full of delightful ancient and protected villages that either sit on the river with their own Chateaux or have connections with the Camino de Santiago French Ways. There are a range of market towns within a small radius all very busy with their local produce. It is still very traditional with a strong sense of local community. Mostly crop farming allows for large swaths of unspoiled countryside and many public paths. Lakes and the river offer many a cool place to languish or entertain the children. A little further we have the Bordeaux and Cognac regions

There are buses that service the local villages if a leisurely day out on public transport fits with your plan!

Railway: Luxe Gare: 1.0 km
Ferry: Caen: 450.0 km
Mansle is the nearest town just 7 km from Luxe and a 25 minute drive from Angouleme the capital city of the Charente. The A28 and A10 are the major roads that service the area making the drive from any part of France straight forward. Luxe is sign posted in Mansle and it's a straight road of 1km to La Terne. You can also travel by train to Luxe via Angouleme from Paris or Bordeaux. There are buses that service the local villages if a leisurely day out on public transport fits with your plan!
