Rowan Cottage has a spectacular south facing setting overlooking Loch Long and the magnificent Firth of Clyde on the Cowal Peninsula. Inside, the cottage is spacious, comfortable and cosy with every modern facility and magnificent views from every window.

The cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a spacious open plan sitting room and dining area with solid oak flooring and a cosy wood burning stove. From the lounge there is a patio door leading out to large decking area and garden where you can relax and soak in the Argyll scenery and enjoy alfresco drinks and dining or enjoy a barbecue in the gardens. The holiday cottages has an idyllic, secluded setting yet have all the amenities of Dunoon available just a few miles away.

Spent a week here end of January, lovely and quiet, well situated for touring about, owners at the farm very helpful and welcoming

Spent a fortnight here. Cottage is easy to find, well looked after and well situated to explore Cowal. Owners were kind and helpful and having Quadmania (with quad trekking and archery) on the farm was a nice extra.

Our self-catering holiday cottages are located in the Cowal Peninsula, one of the most unspoiled and beautiful natural environments in Europe, rich in history, culture and wildlife. It feels like another world, and yet it is only an hour from Glasgow.

The Cowal Peninsula is a delightful part of Scotland bordered on three sides by sea lochs and to the north by the Arrochar Alps. It has its own unique landscape and history and an unspoiled natural environment. A stay in Stronchullin Cottages is an ideal escape from the outside world with many activities to choose from for a perfect holiday and with the town of Dunoon with a further selection of facilities only a few miles away.

Airport: Glasgow International: 58.0 km
Railway: Gourock: 20.0 km
Ferry: Western Ferries Hunters Quay PA23 8HJ: 17.0 km
From Glasgow, follow the M8 for Greenock, then the A8 for Gourock. Take the A770 for Western Ferries, 2 miles beyond Gourock. This is where your holiday begins! Enjoy the 20 minute ferry trip and the fabulous scenery to arrive at Hunters Quay and Cowal. Once off the ferry, turn right onto the A815 for 2 miles. Turn right at a T-junction for the A815; after 3 miles turn right for the A880 taking you to Kilmun, Strone and Blairmore (5 miles). A 1/4 mile past Gairletter Caravan Park watch out for the signpost for Stronchullin Holiday Cottages on the left.

Alternative directions. From Glasgow, follow the M8 for Greenock. Take junction 30 for the Erskine Bridge and then the M898. Take the A82 for Crianlarich. At Tarbet, follow the A83, signposted for Campbeltown and turn left for the A815...
