Newly remodeled, this 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home sits on the sand, slightly above the beach. The patio, family room, master bedroom and deck share panoramic views of the ocean south to La Jolla and north to Camp Pendleton. The openness of the kitchen and family room allows views of the water while cooking, dining and relaxing. Sit on the patio or the large rocks as you watch the waves break, enjoy the frequent visits from jumping (and sometimes surfing) dolphins, or just people watch from above. The beach is known locally for its good surf, so enjoy boogie boarding, skim boarding or practice your own surfing on the boards provided. We've just about given up staying in hotels to opt for vacation rentals...in London, Paris and the Sonoma Coast. So, we've learned that the host sets the tone of our visit. There is no better example than owner Tony and his beautiful home on Buccaneer Beach in Oceanside. The theme of our stay was fun and relaxation, and Tony made sure that we weren't disappointed.

To make sure we had fun, Tony has loaded the two car garage with every kind of surf and beach toy imaginable...surfboards, boogie boards, paddle boards, beach cruiser bikes and more. Then there's the ping pong table and board games. The house sits right on Buccaneer Beach, a favorite surfing beach for locals (see my surf pics!). There are HDTVs in every bedroom and a giant screen next to the fireplace in the living room with free movies and premium channels.

Then you have the relaxation factor. It can't get any better! There are ocean views from every room from misty sunrises to gorgeous sunsets...

Spring Break trip with two kids and parents. This house is outstanding. Tony was great to work with, the house had some snacks and drinks when we got there which was super appreciated. Stunning is a great way to describe the house, right on the beach....basically right on the ocean!!!! The house is outfitted with everything you need from toys and games for the kids to a top notch kitchen for cooking. Having the beach access in the side yard made for sunny mornings because there was no house next door to provide shade. Great porch and little sand backyard to sit and relax....we did lots of that.

Our only problem was getting the kids to go to the sights we were planning on!!!!!! "How about SeaWorld?......nah, let's boogie board, surf, play ping pong and go eat lunch at the marina!!!!!" Really?

Thanks again to Tony. My family and I would highly recommend this place and we will be back.

About the neighbourhood
The San Diego Zoo, Wild Safari Animal Park, Lego Land, Gaslamp District of Downtown San Diego and Balboa Park with all its wonderful museums are just a 30 minute drive down the freeway. Horse racing at Del Mar racetrack is just 20 minutes south (the race season runs from mid-July to the first week of September). A little over an hour away you will find Disneyland, California Adventures, and Knott's Berry Farm. Bicycle trails for road and mountain bikes abound, and you will see riders passing in groups daily up and down the street. Just one short block south is Buccaneer Park which includes a tasty little food hut for lunch, snacks, and sometimes dinner ( you would be surprised at the menu and the food, it is quite good).
