All with our end-of-the-road peace and quiet. You can see and hear the river from the living room, porch and the Rustic and Honeysuckle bedrooms. The Cedar Sanctuary room that looks out on the rosemary garden and forest is completely paneled in cedar tongue & groove. As a nod to the black bears who upend Heidi's compost bins on a regular basis, the new extra-comfy couch and matching chair share a mountain wildlife theme and the place is filled with cool antiques with great stories. Sow's Ear is priced for up to 6 guests. We will consider more, but each additional guest is $18 per night (including tax). Sow's Ear has proven to be a very popular cabin for fishers, who can tie their boats off to the trees overnight. Bucktail put-in is across the river and up a few hundred yards. A good selection of books awaits you. It is wi-fi, and guests especially enjoy working or checking email on the lovely covered porch (ideal for drying waders and other fishing gear). Our shoreline is your shoreline. You can dine overlooking the river, lounge in the hammock, or fish from the shore. We give great kayak lessons in front of our cabin and launch there for raft and kayak trips. Bring tubes or smaller rafts for playing in front of our cabin. We are very dog-friendly with friendly dogs, and you can take your dogs with you on kayak or raft adventures! Michael Caranci of The Fly Shop in Redding says of our cabins: 'For sheer seclusion, access, and cozy, comfortable accommodations, the cabins at the Trinity River Adventure Inn are certainly among the best.' Michael Caranci/The Fly Shop Redding, CA FFF Certified Master Instructor If you're looking for comfort, peace and very reasonable rates, you're going to love Sow's Ear. You will see us only as much as you'd like. We're close enough to borrow stuff from and that's nice since stores are a bit of a drive, but when you arrive you'll find the door is open and Sow's Ear is ready for you.

My two retired brothers and I do an annual “Fishin’” trip, to catch up on Family doings, drown a few innocent worms and generally enjoy each other’s company. This past May we decided to sample the wild and scenic Trinity River area, and, were so...More

About the neighbourhood
Incredibly peaceful and relaxing! End of the road, so good dogs can run free. Behind the cabin is wide open mountains and trees, great for hiking. Fishing is less than a minute's walk from your door. Very easy to get to and only 5 minutes or so from Highway 299. Supermarket, CVS drugstore, neat galleries and restaurants are just a 20 minute drive in Weaverville, an historical mining town.
How to get there
It's a piece of cake getting to us. From 299 we are just under 4 miles toward Lewiston.
