Lochinver Holiday Lodges are set in a picturesque location, about a mile south of Lochinver village, nestled at the foot of birch clad hills in 14 acres of private Highland wilderness. The well equipped lodges are set around garden lawns and all face the sea with fabulous views west over Strathan bay. There is a tidal island, popular with young explorers and two pebble beaches. This is the perfect place to relax in peace and tranquillity or to use as a comfortable base from which to explore the area's many beautiful and stunning attractions. Wildlife abounds. The deer graze in the early mornings on the lawns. Buzzards and crows perform aerial acrobatics above. Heron take up vigil on the rocks ever on the lookout for an unwary crab. Seal, porpoise and otter can occasionally be seen from the shore and the bay echoes with the 'kleep kleep' of the oyster catchers. The local area of Assynt has a wealth of walks for all abilities, from a gentle stroll through ancient forest to a pebble beach at the White Shore or a full day's trek to the top of Suilven, the granite sugar loaf that towers over the village dominating the area's landscape. There are several sandy beaches along the coast, the nearest being Achmelvich with soft white sand and a turquoise sea reminiscent of a more tropical location. The ancient landscape, carved by the glaciers, together with our geographic position at the end of the Gulf Stream, creating regular rainfall, helped form many lochs and rivers. These, together with the sea, offer a superb variety of fishing opportunities. The accommodation consists of a comfortable living/dining area with free Wi-Fi, 32' LED TV / DVD with Freeview, Docking Station and CD Radio Hi-Fi, a fully fitted kitchen with a fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, oven/hob and microwave oven. Two bedrooms, 1 double (with hairdryer), 1 twin and a shared bathroom with a power-shower over the bath. We do request that our guests refrain from smoking in the Lodges. Sorry No Pets. All of our properties are cleaned and maintained to a high standard. Drying Room with Bicycle and Fishing Rod storage facility. Shops, restaurants, Leisure Centre and Tourist Information Centre in the village 1 mile away. Within N.W.Highlands Geopark.. Short breaks, minimum 3 nights from £80.00 per night subject to availability. Please call or e-mail us for more information.More
